Part 1

A miller once left all he owned to his three sons. The eldest son had a mill, the second son had a donkey, but the youngest son had only a cat.

"Off you go," laughed his elder brother, "you can't earn for your living here."

The poor man was very sad. He sat under the tree. He didn't know where to go and what to do.

Then the cat suddenly spoke. "Master, give me, a pair of leather boots and I'll make you a fortune."

Amazed, the miller's son watched Puss pulling on the boots. The miller's son had enough money to buy Puss a suit and a hat with a feather in it.

The cat asked his master to give him a sack of salad.

Crafty Puss took a sack of salad into a field and caught two plump rabbits.

Then he went to the King's palace.
