I. Use un-, in- or im- to change the meaning of the adjectives into negative.

- correct - polite - mature - reliable - efficient

II. Match the words with their definitions.

device, wire, to remote, to replace, source, contradiction, dial, to eavesdrop, peer, weird.

- a situation when one fact is so dif­ferent from another fact or statement that one of them must be wrong;

- to listen to someone’s private conversation without them knowing;

- to operate a telephone or make a telephone call to (someone) by pressing a particular series of numbered buttons, or mov­ing a numbered disc on the telephone;

- the place something comes from or starts at, or the cause of something;

- very strange and unusual, unexpected or not natural;

- a thin piece of metal usually covered in plastic, used for tak­ing electricity from оnе place to another;

III. Choose the correct relative pronouns.

a) A smartphone that / where has a multi-touch screen and who / that can function as a video camera, a phone, a portable media player, a wireless Internet device, etc.

b) A continuous ‘always on’ connection which / who does not use telephone lines; high-speed Internet access (доступ) that / when is faster and better than the traditional access.

c) A lightweight electronic device with a built-in screen, game controls, speakers and batteries whose / that allows people to carry it and play it at any time or place.

d) A home video game console (an electronic machine that is used for playing games on a screen) who / that can even receive messages and updates over the Internet.

e) High-definition television when / which provides a resolution that is higher than that for standard-definition television (about 5 times as many pixels as standard television).

2. When we think about the future, we imagine something really revolutionary like time travel or telepathy.

3. What we need to know is what we are going to do about the changes that all these new inventions bring along and how they will affect our lives.
