Hello! My name is…. Welcome to the bus. We are starting our journey around Astana. Astana is the capital of Kazakhstan. It is the central part of the country on the river Esil. It has a population of over seven hundred thousand people. Today we shall see the Entertainment center of Duman, Akhorda , and many, many other sights.
There are a many museums in Astana. The largest ones are museums of History and Seiphullin Museum.
Astana is famous for its theatres. The best known is the Opera and ballet theatre by Kulyash Baiseitova. There are a lot of green parks and libraries in Astana.
Baiterek is a symbol of the capital. The monument is a symbol of free Kazakh according to the legend, Baiterek is the sacred bird Samruk. Monument Baiterek was opened in 2002.
The Aquarium of the Entertainment center Duman is the first and the only in Kazakhstan, which is located over 3000 km. away from the ocean.
The Pyramid of Peace was built by architect sir Norman Foster. The first inauguration of the President was in September 2006.
