Why we have chosen this topic

• We chose the theme "Thanksgiving Day" for our project because we believe that gratitude and appreciation are important qualities that need to be cultivated in society. Thanksgiving Day is a wonderful opportunity to express our gratitude and appreciation for everything we have in life.

Description of the holiday and its meaning

• Thanksgiving Day is a holiday celebrated in various countries around the world, including the United States, Canada, and some others. It symbolizes gratitude and appreciation for achievements, harvest, family, and friends. In our project, we will explore the history and origin of this holiday, its significance in modern society, as well as examine traditions and customs associated with Thanksgiving Day. We will also discuss ways to express gratitude in everyday life and opportunities to involve volunteers in charitable projects on this day.

Traditions and customs

• Traditions and customs associated with Thanksgiving play an important role in this holiday. One of the important traditions is the preparation and consumption of traditional food. The main dish on the table is usually roasted turkey, which symbolizes the first harvest and friendship between Americans and Native Americans. Cranberries, sweet potatoes, corn, and various pies are also always present on the table.
• Another custom is a family gathering. On this day, people gather together with their relatives and loved ones to spend time with their families. This can be a big family dinner or simply time spent together, discussing and doing enjoyable things. Many also use this day to express gratitude to other people, showing them their love and care.

Thanksgiving day symbols

• Thanksgiving Day is a special day when we gather together with family and friends to celebrate and express our gratitude for everything we have in life. On this day, we use various symbols to convey our feelings and show our appreciation.
• One of the most common symbols of Thanksgiving is the pumpkin. It has become a symbol of abundance and fertility, as well as the main ingredient for a traditional dish - pumpkin pie. The pumpkin reminds us that we have enough food and that we should be thankful for it.
• Another symbol of Thanksgiving is the turkey feather. The turkey became a symbol of this holiday after the first settlers received help from the local Native Americans in survival. The turkey feather reminds us of mutual assistance and that we should be grateful for the support and help we receive from others.
