Тема: Национальный вид спорта в Англии. Развитие навыков чтения и аудирования.

Цель: - ознакомить с новой лексикой по теме «Спорт»;

- повторить использование времен Present Perfect, Past Simple Tense;

- углубить знания о видах спорта в Британии;

- проконтролировать степень усвоения знаний, сформированности умений и

навыков по теме «Спорт»;

- развивать навыки понимания прочитанного, навыки монологической и

диалогической речи;

- способствовать развитию логического мышления учащихся;

- воспитывать познавательный интерес к изучению английского языка, любовь

к физической культуре, желания заниматься спортом.

Ход урока

1. Организация класса.

- Good morning, children!

- Good morning, teacher.

- I`m glad to see you, You look well today. Pupils, who is on duty today? Who is absent today? Are you ready for the lessons?

The topic of our lesson is “The national kind of sport in England”. By the end of the lesson you will be able:

• to recognize, understand and use the learning words and word-combinations;

• to answer the questions;

• to repeat Present Perfect, Past Simple Tense;

• to talk about different kinds of sport English-speaking countries and your personal favorite sports.

1. Фонетическая зарядка.

1. Look at the board. There you can find the proverbs, connected with the topic of our lesson. Read them and explain their meaning. Then give the Russian equivalent to them.

(On the board:

A sound mind is in a sound body . В здоровом теле – здоровый дух.

Health is better than health . Здоровье – самое ценное богатство.

Early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy a wise! Кто рано встаёт, тому Бог подаёт!

1. – Answer the question: ( children answer the question). Do you go in for sport? What`s your favourite sport? Are you a football fan? Is sport popular in our country?

2. – Now, you have 1 minute to mention all the sports you know. Don`t repeat each other`s answers. ( Teacher notes the answers on the board).

3. – Good! Now listen and say what sport I`m talking about:

• People can do it in the swimming pool (swimming)

• This is one of the men`s most favorite sports, where players kick the ball and have to hit it into the gate. ( football)

• This game is played by two teams of 6 players each on an ice field. ( hockey)

• A game for two people who use rackets, a small soft ball and the net (tennis)

• The sport of playing a sort of football with an oval ball. (rugby)

1. Изучение новой темы

1. Watching the video:

• Now, you have to watch the video about the sports in Britain and answer the questions. First, read the questions ( pupils read the questions and watch the video).

• (Pupils answer the questions).

T: What sports do most British people like?

P: Football, cricket, rugby, swimming, tennis, golf, rowing, cycling, walking, horseracing.

T: What’s wimble?

P: It’s the famous British stadium.

T: What country is a home of golf?

P: Scotland.

T: What’s a British game?

P: Cricket.

T: How many public swimming pools are there in England?

P: There are over 20000 public swimming pools in England?

T: How can British people watch sports?

P: On TV and live.

T: Why do the people do the aerobics?

P: To keep fit and to have fun.

T: What`s cricket?

P: It`s croquet Originally a French game, popular in Britain.

1. New vocabulary:

Work with the Student`s book p.71 and look at ex 1. Read the definitions and match them with the new words. ( Children read and match)

What do these words have in common. ( These words are connected with football)

• Look through the text quickly and say which English football clubs or Football players are mentioned in the text ( Children read and say).

1. Speaking.

• Some students have prepared some information about one of the most popular British football players. Let`s listen to them.

• Read the text again and complete it with the missing words.

First group :

Volleyball. This game can be played inside or outside. It is for two teams of six players. You can need a ball and a high net. You hit the ball with your hand or arm. You can`t catch or hold the ball. The winner is the first team to get 15 points.

Second group:

Football. You know that football is an outdoor game for two teams of eleven players. But do you know, that the goalkeeper is the only person who can touch the ball this the hands, hold it and throw it? The other players can only kick or roll the ball. The winner is the team with most goals at the end of the game.

Third group:

Cricket. Cricket is considered to be English national game. Its rules are very complicated. It is played by two teams of eleven men each. The game takes place on an ellipse-shaped grass field. Teams take turns to beat the ball and play in the field, trying to score the maximum number of points or, respectively, to prevent this opponent.

• Complete the sentences according to the text above.

7) Work in pairs.
