The person I admire is Alexey Maresjev

The biography of Maresjev Alexey Petrovitch began on the 20 th of May 1916. He was born in the town of Kamishino.

The person I admire

When the Great Patriot War began, he entered the Field Forces. His first flight was performed in Krivoy Rog. In spring the pilot brought down 4 planes of enemy. Once on the 4 th of April in 1942 under Novgorod he covered heavy bombers in the air battle.

He was brought down. The Soviet officer was severely wounded and had to make landing on the territory of the enemy. The wounded pilot ate the things which could find on the ground during 18 days. Enfeebled pilot was founded by the collective farmers near Valday.

His feet were affected by gangrene and from the hospital he was sent to morgue. On the way there he was examined by medical professor Terebinskiy, who made him an operation saving him but amputated both feet.

Marasjev understood that he would live and began preparations of returning to the front. He began special trainings which could help him to fly with artificial limbs. In 1943 the pilot made the flight in a group of fighting forces of Guard aviation devision. He brought down 2 planes and save his friends.

For this heroic deed he was awarded military rank « Hero Of The Soviet Union». In the whole Alexey Petrovitch made 86 military flights and brought down 11 planes of enemy.

The reason I admire him ,because he is very brave and he never gave up in his life.
