In Traditional costume shirt was outerwear, and in a suit nobility — the bottom. House maid nobles wore a shirt — it was always silk.

Women over a white or red shirt with strapped sleeves embroidered wrists wore silk annuals, with long sleeves and fastened with collar(necklace).
