Altai is a pearl of the Earth

Altai is a Russian province, which is located in the south of Western Siberia, in the center of Asia.

Not a lot of history…

The Altai Edge was formed on September 28, 1937. The administrative center is the city of Barnaul.

During the war years …

About 100 enterprises from the Western regions of the country were evacuated to the Altai. Therefore, the people worked tirelessly to at least somehow help the country. Therefore, the Altai has many monuments to the participants of the Great Patriotic War.

But the years passed, and the Altai Territory was getting better…

So theaters appeared in the Altai, most of them are in Barnaul.

Our pride is the field…

Over time, the Altai region became the largest agrarian region. After all, buckwheat, oats, rye, barley, corn, sugar beet and various herbs are grown here. They produce oil, milk, honey, meat.

My land is rich in water resources…

Water resources of the Altai Territory are represented by surface and groundwater. There are 17 thousand rivers on the territory. And the largest, which are known all over the world The largest rivers are the Ob, Biya, Katun, Chumysh, Aley and Charysh.

I'm proud of my homeland…

I'm proud of my homeland. After all, in Altai were born such famous people as Mikhail Kalashnikov, the developer of the Kalashnikov assault rifle, the successful weapon designer.

German Titov - the pilot-cosmonaut, who made the first long flight into space.

Vasiliy Shukshin is a Soviet film director, actor, writer, screenwriter. Honored Artist of the RSFSR.

For me…

Each of us has a homeland and it can not be forgotten. Even when we are very far away, we feel her presence close by. This is the place that lives in your heart. And it does not matter whether you were born there, grew up or live.

For me, a great homeland is Russia. But the place that I love with birth, where I live is my little homeland. This is Altai.
