«Монологическое высказывание по английскому языку в формате ОГЭ по теме "Фобии" 7 класс (задание №38)»
Card 7
-say what phobia is;
-what kinds of phobias people suffer from;
- what a solution is for someone who has a phobia
When it comes to speaking about phobias, I ‘d like to say that that they are not so rare and sufferers may miss out on many opportunities, feel embarrassed and get teased by other people. Now let’s consider what phobia is and how to fix it.
To start with, Phobia comes from the Greek word ‘phobos’ meaning fearing. Phobia is a strong feeling of irrational fear of a particular object, activity or situation.
Phobias are different. Most people are afraid of terrible diseases and death. People can have common phobias, like a fear of insects, needles and the dark. Besides, humans have a fear of enclosed spaces, flying on a plane or visiting a dentist. Some phobias are very strange, for example, a fear of vegetables, flowers, mirrors or washing.
When someone suffers from a phobia, the danger is mostly in their minds. It’s neither real nor rational. So, the solution for them is to stop avoiding the scary situations or places. They should try to face their fear little by little. A person who is afraid of dogs, for example, could start by looking at a photo of a dog. Then sufferers could stand near someone with a dog on a lead and slowly work out to petting a dog. As they get used to the scary thing, they will realise that their worst fear doesn’t come true. In time, their phobia will disappear for good.
To sum up, I’d like to point out that having a phobia is not a sign of weakness. It is possible for people to overcome their fears.
