Conditional 0 a general truth or fact

if + Present Simple

* Если придаточное условия стоит перед главным предложением, они разделяются запятой. Если главное предложение стоит перед придаточным с if, запятая не ставится.

She will not speak to him if he doesn’t apologise.

* Конструкции I wish/ If only используются для выражения желания и сожаления и переводятся как Хорошо бы/ Если бы только/ Вот бы/ Жаль, что.

I wish I were young again.

Conditional 1 a real possibility in the present/ future

Conditional 2 an imaginary situation in the present/ future

would/ could/ might + bare inf.

if + VII/ was, were + V- ing

If I had a good voice, I would become a singer.

If Paul was not working today, we could go to the beach.

* Придаточные предложения могут присоединяться к главному предложению при помощи союзов: if, unless (= if not), providing, provided (that), as long as, on condition (that), but for + ing form/noun, otherwise, or else, what if, supposing, even if, only if.

Put your sweater on, otherwise you’ll get cold.

Conditional 3 an impossible situation or regret about the past

would/ could/ might + bare perfect inf.

if + had + VIII/ had been + V- ing

If I had studied harder, I would have passed the exams.

If he hadn’t been studying that hard, he wouldn’t have passed his exams.
