We’ve got new pupils in our class: a boy and a girl. They are twins. They have brown eyes and dark hair. They are alike. But Georgina’s hair is much longer than George’s hair. And George is a bit taller than Georgina. George is five minutes younger than Georgina. So Georgina always takes care of him and advises him what to do. They are different when it comes about their clothes. Georgina takes care of clothes. She thinks it’s important to look great. George doesn’t care what people wear. George thinks it’s important to be a great football player.

ИНСТРУКЦИЯ ПО ВЫПОЛНЕНИЮ РАБОТЫ

На выполнение заданий Олимпиады по английскому языку выделяется 45 минут.

Задания разбиты на 3 части.

Часть 1 (Listening) включает 5 вопросов. К каждому вопросу дается 3 варианта ответов, из которых только один правильный. Вы услышите текст дважды. Перед прослушиванием ознакомьтесь с предложенными вариантами ответов. Во время прослушивания вы можете делать пометки.

Часть 2 (Reading Comprehension) ) состоит из 2 заданий. Вам предлагается прочитать текст. В первом задании вы должны выбрать правильное утверждение.

Второе задание содержит 5 предложений, которые надо расставить в правильном порядке в соответствии с текстом.

Часть 3 (Use of English) состоит из 4 заданий.

Первое задание содержит пять групп слов, в каждой группе вы должны найти одно лишнее слово.

Второе задание содержит 5 предложений. Необходимо выбрать один из предложенных вариантов.

В третьем задании вам необходимо найти соответствие между английским и русским вариантом пословиц (5 пар).

В четвертом задании проверяется знанние лексики и грамматика. Вам предлагается выбрать один из предложенных вариантов.

Целесообразно выполнять задания в том порядке, в котором они даны. Для экономии времени можно пропустить задание, которое не удается выполнить сразу, и перейти к следующему. Если после выполнения всей работы у Вас останется время, то можно вернуться к пропущенным заданиям.

Ответы на задания Вы должны внести в лист ответов.

Каждое правильно выполненное задание в первой части (Listening) оценивается в 2 балл, каждое правильно выполненное задание второй и третьей частей оцениваются в 1 балл. Максимальное количество баллов – 40.

Постарайтесь выполнить как можно больше заданий.

Once there was a beautiful island. It was called Bird Island. Many birds lived on the island. There were big birds and small birds, blue birds and red birds. They were parrots, ostriches and eagles.

One day there was a very strong wind. It blew across the sea and the land. The birds were all afraid. The next day it was quiet and still. A small yellow bird sat in a tree.

“Who are you? Where do you come from? “ asked a parrot in his language.

The parrot said to the ostrich. “Who is this? Where does he come from? “

“I don’t know, “said the ostrich. “ I don’t understand his language. The wind carried him here. “

The night was quiet and still, but the yellow bird was unhappy.

“I don’t understand them, “he said. “ I don’t understand their language. “

Suddenly an eagle landed in the tree. “What’s the matter? “ she said. “Why are you crying? “

“I can’t understand the parrot, I can’t understand the ostrich,” said the yellow bird. “I can’t understand their language.”

“Don’t worry,” said the eagle. “I can teach you. Listen carefully. Sing after me.”

The yellow bird listened carefully and learn the language of the others birds. At last he was friends with all the other birds.
