Lesson1 Our house is big and nice.

Aims: Educational:-to learn to say, read and write the parts of a house;

Developing:-to enable pupils to read and write the parts of a house;

-to enable pupils to ask and answer the question “”Where`s..?

Learning outcomes: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:

- read and write the parts of a house;

- ask and answer the question “”Where`s fish/duck/clock, ets?”


Vocabulary and structure: house, bedroom, living room, bathroom, kitchen

Required equipment: Pupil`s book, Workbook, the DVD .

Activity 1 Listen and repeat.

Objectives: to introduce the unit topic, to warm up.

Teacher says, Stand up please. Good morning class.Teacher uses gestures so the pupils stand up.

Teacher says, How are you? Teacher gets the answers from the pupils

Teacher says, Sit down please. Teacher uses gestures so the pupils sit down.

Teacher shows the pupils the textbook and says:”Take out your books”. Teacher makes sure all the pupils have their Pupil`s book..

Teacher says, ”Open your books on page ”.Teacher points to Activity 1. Teacher uses gestures and waits for all the children to open their textbooks.

Teacher says, Listen and sing. Use gestures.

Play the DVD and sing together with the pupils.

DVD script:

It`s my house. It`s my home!(2times)

It`s my living room. I watch TV.

It`s my bedroom. I play with my toys.

It`s my bathroom. I wash my teeth.

It`s my kitchen. I have my lunch.

Activity 2a Look, listen and repeat.

Objective: to introduce the new vocabulary.

1. Teacher asks the pupils to look at the house in Activity 2a and count the rooms, asks “How many rooms?”, counts with them:”1,2,3,4.”,says:”There are four rooms:” bedroom, living room, bathroom, kitchen”

2. Teacher asks the pupils to watch the Look teacher plays the DVD and repeat the new words.

Objective: to consolidate the newly introduced vocabulary.

Teacher asks:”Let`s work in pairs:”Teacher demonstrates what to do and invites two pupils to the blackboard, says to one of them:”Point to a picture in Activity 2a”. Pupil A asks a question, as shown in the example, using a word in the word cloud. Pupil B finds it in the picture and answers pupil A`s question. Then they change their roles.

Put the flashcards describing jobs(teacher, writer, farmer, driver, secretary, fireman, cook, pilot, doctor)on the board.

Teacher says:”Close their eyes”.Then teacher removes one of the flashcards.

Teacher says:”Open your eyes”and asks:”What`s missing?”,Elicits the answer from the pupils.

Teacher says:”Let`s repeat the words for jobs, again and play a game”, puts all the flashcards describing jobs on the table laid down. Demonstrates with one pupil, invites the leader to the board:”Come to the board and take one of the pictures”. When pupil takes the picture ,says to him/her :”Don`t tell anyone about it”.Asks:”Are you a doctor?”.The leader answers:”No”

Asks one more time:”Are you a teacher?”

The leader answers:”Yes”

Then invites another leader.
