Theme: Present Perfect and Past Simple with the time words.

Past Simple with words. To talk about actions or states in a period of time that is finished, we use the Present Simple with: 1) days, dates, times , and years. They arrived on Thursday/at about six o’clock/in the morning . I started learning English in 2017 . 2) last and ago . Did you see the “Superman” last night? We moved to Bishkek three years ago . 3) questions and statements with when. My sister got married when she was eighteen. When did you wake up?

Past Simple with words.

  • To talk about actions or states in a period of time that is finished, we use the Present Simple with:
  • 1) days, dates, times , and years.
  • They arrived on Thursday/at about six o’clock/in the morning .
  • I started learning English in 2017 .
  • 2) last and ago .
  • Did you see the “Superman” last night?
  • We moved to Bishkek three years ago .
  • 3) questions and statements with when.
  • My sister got married when she was eighteen.
  • When did you wake up?

Present Perfect with words. To talk about actions or states in a period of time which continues from past till now, we use the Present Perfect with: 1) no time She has visited 5 different countries. 2) time words as never, already, just, lately, recently, this, yet. I’ve never wanted to be a doctor.= (not at any time in my life). I’ve already done it.= (before now) Mum’s just made dinner.=( a short time before now) I haven’t seen Gulnara this morning.=( the morning isn’t finished) Have you finished yet ? I haven’t done it yet . = before now. Used only in questions or negative sentences.) 3) times I’ve told you this three times!

Present Perfect with words.
