Peer-assessment.

I evaluated 2 students from 31 ER.

Here I used some criteria. They are: provocative, open-ended, challenging, the heart of discipline, by level of complexity, by level of authenticity, by level of coherence.

The first student is Balguzhina Sabina. Essential question: Why creating illustrations help understand and remember meaning of English idioms?

  1. Is it provocative? Yes, it is. This question is provocative as not all the teachers use idioms in English classes.

  2. Is it open-ended? Yes, it is. This question is open-ended , it will not have a single answer.

  3. Is it challenging? No , it is. I think some student can immediately answer on this question.

  4. Does it go to the heart of a discipline or topic? Yes, it does. The question deals with the processes of learning and teaching foreign languages, probable methods and approaches.

  5. Does it arise from real world dilemmas that students find interesting? Yes, it is. Students like to use illustration. It is the fastest way for understanding idioms.

  6. By the level of complexity. It makes a project intriguing and complex. Using illustrations, students will understand how easily they remember idioms.

  7. By level of authenticity. It is connected with real life. The question involves tools, tasks or processes used by people in real world.

  8. By level of coherence.The question requires critical thinking, ability to analyze, digital literacy, to develop 21’st century qualities which help to solve problems.

The second student is Sarsenbina Saltanat. EQ : Why creating a story shown on the layout helps to learn prepositions of place?

  1. Is it provocative? Yes, it is. It is interesting to create layout for students. It is easily for remembering prepositions of place.

  2. Is it open-ended? Yes, it is. Because there is no one correct answer.

  3. Is it challenging? Yes, it is. Students like to create new and can not answer immediately.

  4. Does it go to the heart of a discipline or topic? Yes, it does. Story shown have always been relevant and is interesting and necessary in teaching and learning in the 21st century.

  5. Does it arise from real world dilemmas that students find interesting? Yes, it is. Using prepositions of place will help students to asking and giving directions.

  6. By the level of complexity. I think this question is difficult to answer 5-6 grades.

  7. By level of authenticity. It has connection with real life. Using prepositions can enrich our speech.

  8. By level of coherence. This question doesn't have an exactly answer. It's up to the point of student's view, it directs students toward the project's goals and objectives and delivers the targeted learning outcomes.
