Professions” тақырыбы бойынша өткен сабақ жоспары

Form : 7

Objectives:-

Educational: to teach pupils to use learnt material in oral speech, to enrich pupils` vocabulary

Developing : to develop pupils` abilities and skills in their speaking, writing and reading

to develop communicative competence of pupils

Bringing-up : to bring –up the skill of communication ; to bring-up the student`s respect to

their individuality

Equipment: interactive board, pictures, cards, additional material.

Method of the lesson : pair work

Types of the lesson : presentation and consolidation of studied material

The procedure of the lesson:

I. Motivation

a.Greeting T - Gr.

b . Dialogue with pupil on duty T- P1

c . Psychological training “ What figure you like?”

T.: “ At the beginning of our lesson let`s do some training. Here you see different figures in colurs. Come here ,please, and choose the figure you like. OK. And now look at the screen and read explanations.”



You are a leader, you are always active .


You have good mood, you are happy.


You are a very creative person, you are full of ideas, fantasy and energy.


Colours - Red - you are full of energy. You are active ,brave.

Blue - you are cheerful, curious and active.

Green - you are purposeful, persistent and steady.


  1. Phonetic drill . The poem “ I want to be”

Some people often say to me :

“ Have you decided what you want to be?”

I usually answer : “I don`t know”

But it isn`t really so.

I want to win an Olympic race,

I want to see the Earth from space,

I want to build the houses and schools too.

I want to be on Hollywood`s screen,

I want to invent a new machine

I want to be very clever and wise

I want to win the Nobel prize.

But most of all, I want to be

Healthy and strong, and nice.

T.: What do you think , what is this poem about? What kind of professions are named? Can you name them? Yes, you are right ( sportsman, spaceman, builder, actor or actress, engineer)

And now let`s find the difference between the words: work / job / profession:

Work  – means to have a job, to do the job that you are paid for.

Job  – the regular paid work that you do for an employer.

Profession  – a job that needs a special education and training. If you want to get good

profession you should study a lot.

II.Presentation

1. Speaking about professions. Pupils guess the names of the professions looking at pictures on the screen.

a. She works at school. She likes children very much. Who is she? - Teacher

b. She is very kind .She works at hospital and gives prescriptions to sick pupils. – Doctor

c.He is strong and brave. He works at police station. Who is he? - Policeman

d.She works at hospital too. She treats the teeth. –Dentist

2. Work with pictures. Look at this picture / Who is she? Yes, you are right. She is Bibigil Tulegenova. Can you say what is her profession? Yes, she is a singer. ( Pupils say about persons shown on pictures: Kanysh Satpaev, Aigul Mukei, Bakhyt Shadaeva, Ilya Ilyin,

Victor Patsayev , etc.)

3. Read the definitions and find the professions.

1) A person who helps people with the law or talk for them in court. (A lawyer)

2) A person who makes and sells medicine. (A chemist)

3) A person trained to look after sick animals. (A vet)

4) A person whose job is to stop a fire. (A fireman)

5) A person who makes a plan of a house you are going to build. (An architect)

6) A person who cuts, washes and styles people`s hair. (A hairdresser)

7) A person who helps the customers to find in the shop what they want.

(A shop assistant)

4.Look at the screen and say what are their professions. Your task is to ask and to answer questions . ( pupils work in pairs) Pictures on the screen. F .e.: What`s his profession (job) ? He`s a receptionist.

III. Practice 1. Work with cards. Task : “Correct the sentences”

  1. Doctors teach children. – No, it`s wrong. Doctors don`t teach children. They heal them.

  2. A nurse helps doctors. - Yes, it`s right.

  3. A pilot drives a car. - No, it`s wrong. A pilot doesn`t drive a car.

  4. A fireman delivers newspapers. – No, it`s wrong. A fireman doesn`t deliver newspapers.

  5. A farmer works at school. -- Yes , it`s right.

  6. Teachers work at school.- Yes, it`s right. They work at school.

T.: Have you finished? Change your copybooks with your neighbors and check up the task. ( pupils check up this task their own and then say about results)

2.. Pair work. Who works in these places? Complete the chart.

In a hospital

In an office

In a store

In a hotel

Doctor, dentist, nurse, surgeon

Manager, secretary

Shop-assistant, guard

Waiter, receptionist



3. T.: We have defined about work places and let`s answer the question : “What qualities should people have according to their professions?” You can use these words:

To be educated            a sharp mind            physical strength    intelligent        kind

qualification         to be creative              experience brave friendly

F. e. A teacher should be well educated, kind and intelligent.

4. OK. As you know each profession can be interesting , boring, difficult, dangerous , safe, easy. Let`s talk about it. Look at the screen, you see adjectives. Think of one profession for each adjective. ( interesting, boring, difficult , dangerous, safe ,easy)

F. e. A firefighter`s profession is dangerous.

IV. Production “Jig-saw” tasks doing. Pupils were given sheets of paper with words and sentences. Pupils should replace the sentences to make the right poem. The following poems should be completed.

1. I want to be a worker 2. I want to be a teacher

On a Kazakh modern plant, and teach my children nice

And make machines and lorries to read, to write, to listen

For our Kazakhstan. And give them good advice.

3. I want to be a spaceman 4. I want to be a doctor ,

and go to the moon to keep the children strong,

in our Kazakh rocket and make their parents happy

I`ll make this journey soon. and let them live long.


V. Conclusion

At the end of the school you must choose a job which helps you in your life. Now you should think about it. Your teachers, parents, friends advice you what kind of job you should choose. Then you have to decide what is more important for you and how much you want to earn. Do you want to work with your hands (called manual work) or do you prefer to work in an office? Do you prefer to work indoors or outdoors? You will make decision yourselves. And now let`s sing altogether the song “What will you be.?”
