The 2050 Strategy calls for widespread economic, social and political reforms to position Kazakhstan among the top 30 global economies by 2050

• In order to create favorable environment for executing the Kazakhstan-2050 strategy, the president of Kazakhstan approved the new Foreign Policy Concept of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2014-2020. The concept calls for adherence to a multivector foreign policy and supports regional integration and conflict resolution

• President Nazarbayev announced “100 Concrete Steps to Implement Five Institutional Reforms” in May 2015. 100 Concrete Steps is the plan of the nation that introduces measures aiming to help overcome the global crisis and implement the Kazakhstan 2050 Strategy. The concrete steps are grouped under the following five institutional reforms: formation of a professional state apparatus; the rule of law; industrialisation and economic growth; identity and unity; formation of accountable government
