Before talking about Ozery, let's see, where it is

Ozery is 157 km South-East of Moscow, on the left bank of the picturesque river Oka.

THE HISTORY OF OZERY

The name of the town came from the village of Ozerok or Ozerki, which in 1834 has only 90 yards with a population of less than 500 people.

On the17th August 1925 village Ozery became a town.

NATURE

The nature of Ozery is very beautiful. It is a green town. There are a lot of forests, woods and parks. The river Oka is in our town. People like to rest on the bank of the Oka and have picnics in the forests.

OZERY TODAY

Today Ozery is a modern town with a railway station, a bus station, a hotel, big supermarkets, cinemas, clubs, restaurants and cafes.

Every year a lot of tourists visit our town.

In the center there is a Trinity Church. The Church was built in 1851, at the expense of local manufacturers Morgunov and Shcherbakov.

Local History Museum Of A. P. Doronina

Local history Museum of A. P. Doronina was founded in 1963 .The exposition is devoted to the past and present history of the region. The Museum includes exhibits of creation and development of the town, its population , biographies and photographs of honorary citizens, descriptions of flora and fauna, samples of mineral resources , household items of various periods.

MEMORIALS

Numerous monuments and memorials can be seen in the streets of the town.

This is the memorial to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and this is a monument to the soldiers in Afghanistan.

Sport

Sport is very popular in Ozery. There are a lot of sport centers with skating rinks and swimming pools. We have our football, volleyball, basketball and hockey teams.

Ozery is also famous for world champions.

Sergey Shirokov is a famous hockey player.

Sergey Lipinets is a famous kick boxer.
