MaMayev Kurgan is an upsurge in the center of Volgograd, where during the Battle of Stalingrad there were fierce battle

From the foot of the memorial to its summit there are 200 steps (by the number of days during which the Battle of Stalingrad lasted)

Mamayev Kurgan is famous for its monument to the “Heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad” with the main monument “Motherland is calling!”.

Sculpture “Motherland is calling!”-composition center of the whole ensemble. This is a woman holding a sword in her hand, which stands in the pose of call to fight.The height of the statue is 85 meters.

On Mamayev Kurgan there are several brotherly and individual graves, in which more than 35’000 soliers.

Almost 45 years have passed since the opening of the memorial in Volgograd.
