Endangered Species of Animals

What are endangered species?

• Endangered species - are biological species under threat of extinction.
• Animals have a special place in nature. But many are now in danger of simply disappearing from the face of the Earth. Some of them are simply few in numbers, some are threatened by changing environment. The problem of endangered species is very actual. Every little change in the nature influences all nature.

• 1) Climate change . Temperature changes, floods, fires leads to habitat loss
• 2) Human activity . Human activity has a strong influence on the process of animal extinction. People are cutting down trees and building new plants, which harms animals and the environment

• 3) Environmental pollution . Waste from factories, harmful gases, oil and much more cause harm to animals. Air pollution leads to animal diseases. Water pollution destroys the habitat of aquatic animals and harms waterfowl
• 4) Lack of food . Hunger is the road to extinction. Animals weakened by hunger are more vulnerable to diseases and predators
• 5) Animal exploitation . A person keeping animals in cages, in terrible conditions, for example in circuses. Poachers shoot animals for the sake of skins and teeth

The Red Book

• Red Book — a list of rare and endangered or extinct organisms. This name was chosen specifically to show people the importance of protecting nature.
• The international book describes the endangered species of the entire planet. Rare animals and plants of a certain state are included in the national register.

What can a person do to protect animals from extinction?

• Nature reserves are created to preserve areas of nature with their characteristic animals and plants in a natural state. In most nature reserves, both animals and vegetation are protected at the same time.
• Nature reserves of Russia:
• 1. The Great Arctic . Arctic char, omul, muksun, Siberian grayling, Siberian sturgeon, sterlet, nelma and pike. Many species of animals are listed in the Red Books - international, Russian and Krasnoyarsk Territory.

What can a person do to protect animals from extinction?

• 2. Wrangel Island Arctic fox, ermine, wolverine, wild reindeer, wolves, red foxes also live here.

• 3. Ussuriysky The Amur tiger, the East Siberian leopard, the Mandarin, the black stork, the clawed Ussuri newt are listed in the Red Book of Russia.

Conclusion

• There are many reasons to preserve rare species. Firstly, they have aesthetic value. Secondly, they are medically useful. And finally, the ecology of our planet literally depends on them. Such an important and global goal as the conservation of rare and endangered animals, on the scale necessary for its implementation, requires the intervention of the maximum number of people. Even a small donation or the simplest volunteer work is another step towards restoring natural resources.
