Mother`s Day is a celebration that honors mothers.

• Mother`s day was first celebrated in 1908 in America.
• In Great Britain and Ireland people celebrate Mother’s Day on the fourth Sunday of March. They eat simnel cake and buy gifts, sweets or flowers for their mothers as way to thank them for all they do.

Simnel cake is a light fruit cake, similar to a Christmas cake.

In Russia this holiday was established in 1998. It is celebrated on the last Sunday of November.
