The main symbols of Maslenitsa are, of course, blinis.
At the end of winter people all over Russia cook blinis and set a good table for their friends and relatives.
Maslenitsa is the funniest folk spring festival. Every day of the week has got its name and tells us what we have to do on this day.

On Friday sons-in-law went to their mothers-in-law to eat blinis.

On this day people burnt Lady Maslenitsa on a big bonfire.
Traditional amusements of Maslenitsa in old Russia were fist fights, assault of snow fortresses, sleighing, sliding down ice-runs and others.
Women cooked blinis and pies.
The last day of the Maslenitsa Week is Forgiveness Sunday. It is a special day, when all the people ask each other for forgiveness.
In old times on this day people went to the church and prepared for the Great Lent.
