• Provide green open spaces with fresh air to enjoy the outdoors
• Home to different wildlife
• Trees & plants clean the pollution from the air

• They belts occupy too much land, it should be freed up & used for the construction of new towns & cities
• Some of them aren’t attractive and should be developed
• Traffic congestion from commuters causes a lot of pollution in green belts
• Nature reserves provide home for wildlife
