Introduction

Nowadays the Internet plays an important role in people’s lives. Millions of people post training videos, funny pictures, movie reviews, games, and others every day. These people are called "bloggers." In our work we set the goal to study the phenomenon of blogging and create our own content in English and Russian. If you study the theoretical basics of blogging and popular web services, you can become a blogger despite your young age.

To achieve the goal we have set the following objectives:

1) to study the history of blogging and popular web services

2) to examine types and classification of blogs and bloggers

3) to create a personal account on Instagram

4) to develop our blog in English and Russian

Research methods: to study and analyze articles in Russian and English

Research object: popular channels and blogs on the Internet

Research subject: creating own blog

Thanks to this project we are able to:

- get acquainted with the basic terms of blogging;

- search for information in Russian and English-language texts;

- work with the design of a school blog;

- improve language skills;

- give self-assessment to the results of our work;

- present our achievements;

1. The history of blogging

1.1. What blogging is and how it appeared.

What is blogging? A blog is a website which main content is regularly updated. A blogger is a person who has an online diary (blog), regularly publishes new posts in it. A blog on the Internet can be started by anyone and can be written on any subject. There are already 2 billion bloggers in the world. They write posts about themselves and their way of life, about travelling, about beauty, about cars, about business and about politics. You can find a lot of information about how to write and promote your blog. Any online diary will exist as long as it is interesting to people. The main criterion for the success of the blog is the number of the followers (people who regularly read or watch it). The first blog was created in 1992 by Tim Berners-Lee 's. Blogs have been used since 1996. The most popular video sharing site YouTube was founded in February 2005. The other popular sites are Telegram, Twitter, Vkontakte and Instagram. We chose Instagram. This app was founded by Kevin Systr and Mike Krieger in San Francisco in 2010. Instagram is very easy to use. This app is used to communicate, share photos and videos, and allow people all over the world to contact each other.

1.2. Types of blogs.

Depending on the content, blogs are needed for different purposes, but mostly they are needed for communication.

Types of blogs:

• text blog

• photoblog

• musical blog

• video blog

• animals (bloggers share information about their pets)

• computer games

• personal life

• music

• science and technology

• news and politics

• education

• travelling

• sports

For ourselves we decided that in order to create an interesting profile it is not necessary to have a professional team consisting of an operator, a journalist, an editor and a screenwriter. Bloggers can do all this work themselves.

2. A Practical part

2.1. A Sociological survey

During this work we had a sociological survey. This survey was conducted among 6 year students (schoolchildren aged 11 - 12). 8 people took part in this survey.

First of all, we decided to find out whether children knew what "blog" was and who was a "blogger"? Most respondents replied that they knew what a blog was and who a blogger was, only 1 person replied that he didn’t know the definition.

The next question was: Do you have your own blog? 5 children said yes, 3 participants said no. Based on the survey, it can be considered that blogging was popular with children.

At the end, we asked the children whether they believed that the information of the blog could be useful and educational for the audience. 6 participants answered yes. In their opinion, there were many useful blogs and they also believed that to create a blog, it is necessary to learn how to use the gadget and the Internet.



2.2 Learning from bloggers’ experience

During our project work we decided to learn more about bloggers. Our favourite bloggers are Funny Friends, Maria OMG, Nikol CrazyFamily and Viki Show. Also our teacher introduced us to the successful blogger Majorova Christina a pupil of the 9th form. She is a beginner blogger. Christina told us about herself and about her experience of blogging. We found out a lot of interesting things about her. Christina has 3987 thousand followers and she has written her blog since 2018. Christina’s blog is about her life, fashion, make-up, school, friends, sport and school exams. Christina told us how she promoted her blog. We have received useful information about how to develop our blog and attract many followers.

3.3 Our school blog.

We decided to start our school blog. As mentioned above, one of the most popular apps for creating a blog is Instagram, so we have created personal content in this program.

The purposes of our blog are entertainment and communication. Our blog is unique because we use two languages in it.

Our blog is collective. It is written by the whole class.

We write about school life, animals, holidays, hobbies, films and actors.

The result of our practical work is the answer to the question: "Who can become a blogger?." Anyone can become a blogger. You need to have an access to the internet and be able to express your ideas correctly.

Conclusion

To sum up, we studied the history of blogging and the most popular blogging web sites. The most interesting moment of our research was an interview with the blogger Christina. We created a personal profile on Instagram. We wrote our blog in English and Russian and we were able to enlarge our vocabulary with new words and expressions. During the work on the project, we concluded that it was possible to become a blogger at any age. Now our blog is popular only with classmates, friends and teachers, but we are going to develop it in the future.

Whales are some of the most magnificent, amazing and majestic creatures on the Earth! In Russia the Whale day has been celebrated since 2002 and we have celebrated it in our school too.


During the week of foreign languages we drew posters, created our own whales 🐳 , took part in the quest and watched videos. As for us, the most important thing we understood that we had to protect our environment and help to save whales!


Киты-самые удивительные, величественные и потрясающие существа в мире. В России День Китов отмечают с 2002 года. Мы тоже отмечали этот день в школе. В течение недели иностранных языков мы рисовали плакаты, делали китов своими руками, принимали участие в квесте и смотрели видео.
