Stephanie Meyer

Stephanie Meyer (born December 24, 1973) is an American author best known for her vampire romance series Twilight .

She was born in Hartford, Connecticut. She grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, with five siblings: Seth, Emily, Jacob, Paul, and Heidi. She attended Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona. She then attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where she received a B.A. in English in 1997. Meyer met her husband Christian when she was growing up in Arizona, and married him in 1994 when they both were 21. Together they have three sons: Gabe, Seth, and Eli.

Meyer had never written even a short story before Twilight , and had considered going to law school because she felt she had no chance of becoming a writer. Before becoming an author, Meyer's only professional work was as a receptionist in a property company.

Meyer currently lives in Cave Creek, Arizona, and also owns a home on Marrowstone Island, Washington.

Twilight

Meyer says that the idea for Twilight came to her in a dream on June 2, 2003. The dream was about a human girl, and a vampire who was in love with her but thirsted for her blood. Based on this dream, Meyer wrote the draft of what is now Chapter 13 of the book. In a matter of three months she had transformed her dream into a complete novel, though she claims that she never intended to publish Twilight and was writing for her own enjoyment. Her sister's response to the book was enthusiastic and she persuaded Meyer to send the manuscript to literary agencies. Of the 15 letters she wrote, five went unanswered, nine brought rejections, and the last was a positive response from Jodi Reamer of Writers House. Eight publishers competed for the rights to publish Twilight in a 2003 auction. By November, Meyer had signed a $750,000 three-book deal with Little, Brown and Company.

Twilight (2008)

Twilight is a 2008 American romantic vampire film based on the novel of the same name by Stephanie Meyer. Directed by Catherine Hardwicke, the film stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, and is the first film in The Twilight Saga film series. The film focuses on the development of a relationship between human teenager Bella Swan and vampire Edward Cullen, and the subsequent efforts of Cullen and his family to keep Swan safe from a coven of evil vampires.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009)

The film follows Bella Swan's fall into a deep depression, until she develops a strong friendship with werewolf Jacob Black. Jacob and the other werewolves in his tribe must protect her from Victoria. A misunderstanding occurs, and Edward Cullen believes Bella is dead. Edward decides to commit suicide in Volterra, Italy, but he is stopped by Bella, who is accompanied by Edward's sister, Alice. They meet with the Volturi, a powerful coven of vampires, and are released on the condition that Bella be turned into a vampire in the near future. Bella and Edward are reunited, and she and the Cullens return to Forks.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010)

The film follows Bella Swan as she develops awareness of the complications of marrying Edward Cullen. As Victoria draws nearer with a group of new born vampires, Jacob Black and the rest of the werewolves form a temporary alliance to destroy her, in turn, to keep Bella safe. While Bella tries to decide who she is, a fight brews and the consequences are paid once Jacob gets hurt. Intent on keeping a compromise with Edward, she vows to keep true to her engagement and marry him.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn (2011/2012)

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn will be directed by Bill Condon, and author Stephanie Meyer will co-produce the film along with Karen Rosenfelt and Wyck Godfrey; Melissa Rosenberg will pen the script. The book's plot will be split into two films, the first of which is tentatively scheduled for release on November 18, 2011. The second will be released the following year, on November 16, 2012.

My opinion about books and films…

Last year I watched the first film of Twilight Saga. It was excellent. It is a romantic story about the ordinary girl and the vampire. They fell in love and taught us to believe in happy life and proud of relationship. I read all the books by Stephanie. They’re outstanding…

The film is keeping me in suspense for long time. It’s wonderful. No one film grabbed my attention before I saw great Bella and impressive Edward. They make me cry and happy in the same time. I do like these actors and their films…
