2. Read the text about the British composer Henry Purcell and complete it with the statements (a—g).

Henry Purcell was born in 1659 in London. Like his father he too became a chorister, (1)... . The talented boy started (2)... . He composed the music to the works by the most prominent (3) ... . His compositions contain songs and choruses which never fail to please, (4)....

At the age of 21, Henry Purcell was appointed organist of Westminster Abbey. It was the most honourable position an English musician (5) ... .
