Ни для кого не является секретом тот факт, что к IX-XI классам у учащихся наблюдается некоторое снижение интереса к иностранному языку. Исчезает элемент новизны, появляется осознание того, что изучение иностранного языка – это не только интересное, но и трудное дело. Для повышения интереса к этому предмету целесообразно проводить мероприятия, стимулирующие положительное отношение к иностранным языкам.

Цели и задачи:

• познавательный аспект - обобщение информации об исторических событиях, известных людях, системе образования и литературе Великобритании;

• развивающий аспект - развитие творческих способностей, способности к непроизвольному запоминанию, внимания, воображения, наблюдательности; развитие умения сотрудничать, работать в коллективе;

• воспитательный аспект - воспитание уважительного отношения к культуре другой страны и ее людям; воспитание потребности к творчеству;

• учебный аспект - развитие речевых умений; пополнение пассивного словарного запаса.

Оборудование:

Место проведения: кабинет английского языка/актовый зал

Столы для участников четырёх команд стоят на расстоянии друг от друга.

Экран должен быть хорошо виден всем участникам игры.

На столах – листы бумаги для написания участниками команд ответов для жюри. На столе жюри – табличка  Jury с фамилиями членов жюри, ключи к заданиям, колокольчик (для сигнала прекращения обсуждения).

Подготовительный этап игры

В период подготовки к игре (за 2 недели до игры) учащимся 10 классов было предложено разделиться на группы. Первая группа должна подготовить 80 вопросов по страноведению Великобритании, США, Канады, Австралии, Новой Зеландии. Учащиеся второй группы должны повторить вопросы по географии, истории, литературе и спорту англоязычных стран. Учащиеся третьей группы готовят презентацию – путеводитель по англоязычным странам.

Правила викторины:

Игра состоит из трех туров. Первый тур «Вопрос -ответ» проводится накануне основной игры. По одной команде с каждого класса обмениваются вопросами, им дается 30 минут и предоставляется возможность пользоваться справочной литературой, чтобы ответить на большее количество вопросов. За не корректные вопросы баллы присуждаются разгадывающей команде. Затем листы с ответами сдаются на проверку жюри. Максимум – 80 баллов.

Второй тур проводится на следующий день. Перед началом викторины жюри объявляет результаты первого тура. Задания викторины высвечиваются на экране (презентация в формате «своя игра»). Перед игрой ведущий (преподаватель) определяет время для подготовки ответов и кратко объясняет систему опроса. Правильные ответы высвечиваются на экране сразу после ответов участников игры. Баллы начисляются по системе 1 балл за правильный ответ. Промежуточные результаты фиксируются жюри. Во время выполнения заданий в команде фоном звучат английские народные песни, которые создают определённую атмосферу погружения в культуру страны. За нарушения правил игры командам делают предупреждения, повторное нарушение ведёт к снятию балла. Продолжительность игры – 60 минут.

Третий тур – устная презентация достопримечательностей и информации одной англоязычной страны. Продолжительность выступления – 7-8 минут. Затем подведение итогов. Баллы суммируются, определяется победитель.

Yesterday students of 10^th grades took part in the 1^st round of the quiz: each team was given set of questions about main English-speaking countries – The UK, the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. There were 80 questions and students were given only 30 minutes to answer them, they were also allowed to look for information in different internet resources.

So results of the 1^st tour: 10A class ______ points, 10B class ______ points, 10C class ______ points,

10D class ______ points.

Now let’s start 2d round, look at the screen , you see 5 categories of the questions – Geography, History, Customs and Holidays, Sports –Arts and Literature and the last category – Idioms and proverbs.

You can choose category and question of different difficulties in turn. Also each team has 30seconds to think over the question. If team doesn’t know the answer, next team has its chance but wait for your turn, don’t cry out. More over – if someone from audience tries to help – the team will be punished.
