I think our towns and cities will look very different. There will be a lot of new houses, shops, offices and roads. Maybe we will have some really tall buildings in Kazakhstan, like the skyscrapers in New York. More of us will live in cities and, of course, they will be much bigger. In 1800, only half the world’s population lived in towns and cities. Today, over half the world’s population lives in towns and cities. In 2050, experts predict it will be over 70 per cent! The biggest cities will probably be Tokyo, Mumbai and Delhi. Maybe Astana too!

Kazakhstan has a lot of oil and natural gas. These are important for industry and transport, and for heating homes and for heating homes and schools. A lot of countries don’t have their own oil and gas, so Kazakhstan will supply other countries with the oil and gas they need. But one day well need new forms of energy. We already have some hydro-electric power stations in Kazakhstan. Maybe in the future well need solar power too.

I really love animals. I’ve been to the Almatinsky Nature Reserve a few times. Last time I saw an enormous brown bear. There are snow leopards there too, but I’ve never seen one. We have some amazing animals and birds in Kazakhstan, and some are very rare, like the snow leopard. We need to protect these species. I think our national parks and nature reserves will be every important in the future. They ll protect our wildlife, and also, people from the cities will enjoy coming to the parks, hiking and seeing the wild animals and birds. I definitely believe we should look after the environment for the next generation.
