Superstitions in Russia
Russians are a superstitious people; they do strange or unusual things a lot to ward off bad luck or attract it. If you learn a little more about Russian superstitions, the mysterious Russian culture will open up to you from a new perspective. In addition, you won’t find yourself in an awkward situation when faced with superstitions.
Give flowers only in odd numbers. (i.e. three, five, seven, etc)
If you give flowers to someone, always give an odd number (i.e. three, five, seven, etc).
An even number of flowers (i.e. four, six, etc) is given to a dead person at a funeral.
Give your lover yellow flowers.
Don’t give your lover yellow flowers. Doing so is a sign of bad luck and signifies the end of a relationship.
Ears & cheeks burning
Ears or cheeks burning. Someone is talking about you or discussing you.
Spider on walls, doors, clothes
Spiders are good signs meaning wealth and good news.
You should sweep the floor from the doors to the window.
You should sweep the floor from the windows to the door, sweeping all the dirt away from the house.
Forget something and return
Forgetting Something and Returning
Do not return into the house once you’ve started on your way from it.
But if you have to, then look into a mirror. Otherwise you’ll have a bad journey.

Present Wallets or Purses

If you present someone a wallet or purse, put a little money in it first for financial luck.
If you get an animal (a kitten, etc) as a present
If you get an animal (a kitten, etc) as a present, you should give a kopeck (token sum of money) for it.
Shake hands while wearing gloves
Shaking hands while wearing gloves is simply impossible .
You should always, even when it’s very cold, remove your glove nom the right hand before a handshake. Actually in Russia no one will shake your hand if you don’t remove a glove.
