School as a center of developing children`s creative abilities

Torokhova Anna,

The student of the 11th form of school №23

Childhood is a certain life stage when important traits of character are formed. That is why school has a special responsibility – to educate a true citizen for the country and develop a talented personality. Now I want to write about some reasons why we should develop children`s creative abilities at school.

Firstly, I believe that creative process in different areas helps a student to feel himself independent and gives an opportunity to implement his ideas and desires. This process brings together students of different ages.

Secondly, pupils are sure that their personal participation influences the development of a society.

Thirdly, children`s participation in the school public life contributes to the development of a person such qualities as responsibility, sociability, diligence, initiative and creativity. Finally, these qualities will be necessary for a future profession.

On the other hand, many parents think that because of great deal of school activities children don`t have enough time to do homework, skip classes, pay less attention to study, spend much time only for fun. In this case it will be good to remind a proverb: «Many people, many minds».

In conclusion, I would like to write that I have been a member of student`s school government for 4 years. Over the years of creative work, I discovered for myself a lot of unforgettable things, met interesting people, learned how to organize parties, meetings, and celebrations well and help the juniors. In my opinion, to be an activist is a great opportunity to reveal yourself and talents and help those who have not become a school public figure yet.

There are many ways and opportunities for students to participate in public creative deeds and sports affairs at my school:

  • For many years the most popular sport activities are basketball, volleyball, and track competitions of different levels.

  • Our school has a well-known in the city and all over the republic Boys` Choir and Children`s Instrumental Orchestra. The musical leader is a teacher of music Malishkin V.I. He is a famous teacher in the republic. This year, the Boys’ Choir celebrated its 20th anniversary.

  • Students` pedagogical group «Star», Students` Self-Government «Triumph» help teachers in bringing up the junior school children and teenagers.

Traveling around the world

Maxim Yakovlev,

The student of the 9th form of school №17

There is nothing better than traveling around the world or in home country. When a person travels, he opens new opportunities, he expends his horizons, finds spiritual satisfaction and shares the culture of his nation. It is impossible to imagine our life without traveling, because it gives meaning to life and thanks to it we will be who we are.

Personally, I enjoy travelling. For the first time in my life, I was in Anapa, when I was in primary school. I was surprised when I knew that my family and I will go to rest. I wanted to learn much about residents, the climate and swim in the Black Sea. In Anapa everything was great: fresh air, beautiful places, bays, beaches and much more. I liked this trip and without it I would not know the beauty of the city.

In 2013, my family and I traveled to Europe. We celebrated New Year in Amsterdam, it was an unforgettable holiday. During the trip, I saw a lot of interesting and unusual things. We visited six capitals of Europe: Warsaw, Prague, Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris, Luxembourg. We visited Europe's largest Christmas Fair. There we saw many interesting things: the rides, shops with souvenirs and sweets, clowns and mimes. We were in Amsterdam, the capital of Holland. I was surprised that there are a lot of cyclists. In the city, we visited an excursion of Tussaud’s Museum, went to the Holland farm, where we tasted real cheese. We celebrated New Year in hotel. It was amazing and unforgettable.

Also we were in Paris. Here is the famous Eiffel Tower. We managed to see it during the illumination. It was perfect. We visited the cathedral, which was built in the middle ages. It was the Notre Dame de Paris. It was exciting in the Cathedral. We admired the majestic building with all the icons, bells and mosaics. In addition, we floated along the river Seine, which left us a cheerful and happy experience. In general, I liked to travel around Europe.

In conclusion, I would advise you to travel all over the world. I saw the beauty of the world with my own eyes. I was acquainted with different cultures, acquired a lot of impressions that help me to expend my horizons, develop my individuality. Unfortunately, the modern situation in policy and relationships between the European Union and Russia worries everyone. As you know, the European Union imposed economic sanctions to Russia. I don’t think it is the best way of solving problems. People need to travel, make new friends and share wonderful feelings.

Travelling

Khubieva Zalina,

The student of the 10th form of school № 21

To travel is to live.

Hans Christian Andersen

Travelling is important for all of us. It gives us movements and changes. We can’t live without it during the whole life. It keeps us from being stale and old.

People have different reasons to travel. One of them is to go in search of beauty, new emotions and impressions. Robert Louis Stevenson said: “I travel not go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move”. I agree with his words. Some people don’t want to stay at home all the time. They need movement. Also a man, who travels a lot, is more likely to be able to understand other points of view.

But on the other hand, travelling may be cost-based and take a lot of effort. Travelling is always exhausting. Not everyone could easily leave home and trip for a long time or change different places. For some people it is very stressful.

If you want to travel either for pleasure or for business you can choose various means of transport. There is for instance, the humble, inexpensive bicycle. Then there’s the motor-cycle, you can travel quickly and cheaply. One travels comfortably by motor-car for long distances without getting too tired. Aero planes carry passengers to numerous parts of the world. But most of travelers still prefer to use trains no matter how many hours or days it takes.

I want to tell you about British adventurer Karl Bushby who travelled around the world on foot. He walked 3 000 miles from Los Angeles to Russia. He wanted to set up the most prolonged walk in human history (he visited Yukutya too). In my opinion, hiking is nice because you don’t think about tickets, timetables and other items. All you need is a rucksack with all the things you will use during your way. It’s great, isn’t it? “The traveller sees what he sees and the tourist sees what he has come to see”, - said Guilbert Keith Chesterton (English writer, poet and philosopher of the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries).

I’m absolutely sure that everybody wants to explore some new and interesting places. And who doesn’t? The world is more interesting that we think. All countries have own culture, traditions and customs. For example, did you know that Iceland took the first place in the highest concentration of geysers among other countries? Or it’s amazing that the highway of Belgium is illuminated so well and as a result at night it’s visible even from space? Did you know that Finns are the most ardent coffee lovers? In a year one person drinks about fourteen kilograms of coffee. It’s nearly nine cups per day. And the capital of France is famous not only for its museums, cathedrals and the Eiffel tower, but also the “Catacombs of Paris”? The length of these catacombs is one hundred eighty seven – three hundred km (according to different sources) and about 6 million people were buried there. It’s very interesting. When I have known about these facts, I immediately wanted to explore this place. I agree with René Descartes (French philosopher, mathematician and writer) who said: “Travelling is almost like talking with men of other centuries”.

I wish I could visit Scandinavian countries one day. I dream about a trip to Reykjavik. Reykjavik is the capital of Iceland, very beautiful and mysterious country. Also I want to visit Munich and to go to stadium Allianz Arena because I really love football and I support Bayern Munich. I want to visit Ireland because I want to look how the Irish celebrate Saint Patrick day. I want to go to Sealand. Sealand is an unrecognized self-declared state consisting entirely of Roughs Tower, an offshore platform located in the North Sea. Sealand sells titles of individual nobility including Lord Baron, Count and those titles’ distaff equivalents. It is great, I think.

In conclusion I want to say that it is the great joy for traveller to return home. Every human being should have his own shelter for some memories and family values. And I know that the first thought of every traveller is “Home, sweet home”.

Travel

Lyudmila Vinokurova,

The student of the 11th form of school №2

There is a large number of debates about travels. Some people claim that travelling helps to find an identity of a person while others argue that training personal qualities can be purchased at home. Now I would like to express my point of view on the problem of travelling.

As for me, I consider that the travelling really helps to develop the person’s identity. There are many things to be said in favour of travelling around the world. Firstly, through the travelling we can get an education in a particular profession. Secondly, we can familiarize with new cities and places and get impressions of incredible sights. Thirdly, it is meeting new people. Meetings new people are always new happy memories and unforgettable moments that we can remember in the winter evening.

However, some people think that travelling is useless. To my mind, any journey is always very expensive. I think that not everyone can afford to travel where the heart is calling. Moreover, not all people like to leave their home. There are people who are willing to live in one place without going anywhere. I disagree with this point of opinion because man cannot live without development. Besides, the development is knowledge of the world.

In conclusion, I would like to say that travelling is a part of useful stage of development. After all the travelling we get to know not only the worlds of knowledge and discovery but also yourself.

Travelling

Masha Robbek,

The student of the 10th form of Sakha Gymnasium

As you know the most widespead hobby is considered to be travelling. A lot of people can not imagine their life without it. They are crazy about fascinating traveling.

On the one hand, travelling is the best way to study geography, taste different food, improve English. In addition the best way to learn traditions and customs of other people. Besides, it gives us breathtaking opportunity to enjoy fabulous sights and to leave unforgettable impressions. Moreover, a lot of people are so tired of being at the same place the whole year. That is why they want to feel unrepeatable and fantastic sensation.

On the other hand, others disagree with them and think that it is just waste of time and money. Firstly, it is too expensive and luxurious pleasure. Secondly, people claim that there is much to be seen in their own country. Thirdly, it is dangerous to travel by plane. A lot of accidents are spoken and shown on the television.

I disagree to this opinion. The accidents happen seldom.

There are many means of travelling by car, by plane, on foot, on ship and so on. As for I prefer to travel by plane it is is the fastest, the most comfortable and safest way.

Finally, it is much better to see with our own eyes the most well-known sights than on TV and magazines. In my opinion travelling unites people of different countries, broaden our mind and teach to respect the culture of other countries.

Travelling is the name of a modern disease

Egor Sadovnikov,

The student of the 9th form of Sakha Gymnasium

There’re a lot of hobbies and one of the most popular kinds of hobbies is travelling. Of course, it all depends on money. If you have much money, you can go anywhere you want. That’s why travelling is the name of a modern disease so to say. Travelling has a great number of advantages.

While travelling you can learn much about people’s traditions and customs, have some glimpses of cities, taste their dishes and of course, there is a great opportunity of making friends. Having visited many places your outlook on life changes, and needless to say that travelling makes your life more colourful than to live, learn and work all the time. That’s why I suppose people prefer to travel a lot. As for me, I have been to Toronto, London and New York and no doubt, it made a great impression on me. Secondly, it improves not only your skills of English speaking, but it widens your horizons as well.

But still there are some disadvantages of travelling. It’s really expensive to buy tickets to other countries .For example, a ticket to New York from Moscow costs about 55000 roubles. Moreover, a traveler needs food, hotel, visa and some other things. Not everyone can afford it. Even if it involves travelling by boat, airplane, train, bus, on foot or other means, with or without luggage.

So, I think everyone must see beautiful places like London or New-York in his life. We live just once, so we should experience all forms in our short life. In my opinion, travelling is a really exciting thing that everyone should go through, isn’t it? If you have money and can speak English, you won’t face any problems with travelling. Travelling is one of the things that we must have in our life!

Youth problems

Nastya Chernogradskaya,

The student of the 10th form of Sakha Gymnasium

As you know, youth problems are very actual in nowadays, because this age plays an important role in our life and each pass through it. Why I have chosen this topic. My main reason is I’m a teenager. That is why this topic is more closer to me. People say that youth is the most wonderful period in their life. I agree with this argument, because you are young, active, ambitious and all your future in your hands. You can do everything what you want. That is why a lot of adult people want to be young.

On the other hand, young people have to face a lot of problems in their life such as psychological moreover alcohol and drugs may become a kind of emotional escape for young people. To my mind, the main problems for teenager are drugs and alcohol. However, it would be wrong to say that youth is the most awful period in life. It is the time for parties, dates and for real friendship. I think, youth period has many happy moments and fabulous discoveries.

Another main problem is little money. They need money for food, for fun and for gadgets and fashionable cool clothes. I think, causing bright clothes is one sigh of youth, because we are not adult and we are irresponsible.

In conclusion, to be a teenager is cool, because you don’t care about both your boring job, and all the adults’ problems. You are free and of course young. That is why all teenagers should to appreciate their age, though it’s the most responsible period in their life.

Relationships between people

Masha Ivanova,

The student of Sakha Gymnasium

As you know, relationships between people are much spoken everywhere because they influence our life. I consider, so many men, so many minds. In fact, relationship is the burning question of modern society.

To my mind, if you get along with one person, it won’t mean that you can be friends with everyone. I think without friendship you can’t be satisfied with your life. Everyone needs communication, but it’s so difficult to please all people.

In my view, the main reason why people don’t get along with each other is a gap between generations. Because they have different ages, outlooks, hobbies and tastes. This misunderstanding has been existing for a lot of years. That’s why either young or old often argue with each other. Also, each generation has its own opinions and views of their life. However, we should listen to elders’ advices because they have much more life experience.

Wherever you go to study or to work, you’ll have to make more friends, so it will be useful for your future. To get a successful life, you should be in good terms with your boss and coworkers. Just be nice and agree with them and they will like you for sure. If you respect others, you will be respected too.

In conclusion, the problem of relationships between people is actual. We are among people and it is so important to get along with other people.

Gap year

Nikolay Gavrilyev,

The student of Yakutsk city national gymnasium

Some people think that school-leavers should take a gap year before entering university. Others believe that they should go to university, at one sweep, after graduation.

I completely agree with the first statement for a number of reasons. First of all, only fifty percent of school-leavers know what they will do in their future, so gap year could be a great chance to think about your further opportunities. Secondly, school-leaver can earn some money for his college or university. And finally, they can just relax and have fun before their hard and difficult life in university.

However, some people have another point of view about this topic. Some of them think that gap year is a waste of time and it would be better to do studying instead of taking life experience and travelling round the world. What is more, when you take a gap year you can forget something that you have learned.

Despite my respect for their opinion I can't share it. They don't mention some weak points in their arguments. In particular, as I said gap year could be a good chance to think about your future. Even if you forger something, for example English grammar tenses, you will repeat them and I think it wouldn't take a long time to remember them all.

In conclusion, I would like to notice that during a gap year you can become another person and your world view can change rapidly in a good way, but it depends on how school-leaver will control his gap year's time.

What do parents owe their children?

Yulia Gerasimova,

The student of Yakutsk city national gymnasium

It is well known that parents always try to do all their best for their children and sometimes they become the willing victims. Finally they are despised for the lack of firmness and blamed when their children get into trouble.   With this in mind I will try to answer the question: "What do parents owe their children?" but I will start with what they do not owe them.

First of all, I would like to tell you that parents don't owe their children every minute of their day and energy. They should not buy any expensive thing what their children want. Secondly, I take the firm position that parents must not give money for their every wish. They shouldn't buy a house for their adult children. Also, they do not have an obligation to be a baby-sitter. Of course, if they want, it must be considered as a favor, not an obligation. Parents must not feel guilty if they can't afford something what their children want. Parents owe their children firm guidance and consistent discipline. Parents owe their children a set of solid values, around which to build their lives.

But what do children do for their parents? Nothing special. It is often sad to see childrens' indifference to their parents. They take everything for granted. So, what about childrens' side, I think that they should do simple things like visiting their parents, do not avoid them and try not to make them be disappointed and upset. It is possible, in fact, to treat them carefully, do some housework because they do not have any free minute

In conclusion, to my mind, it is necessary to increase understanding between parents and children because any child will become a parent in future.

It is better to get higher education in hometown rather than in big cities

Diana Borisova,

The student of the 11th form of Yakutsk Municipal Lyceum

A few years ago studying at hometown’s university was not considered to be prestigious and desirable. Nevertheless, the situation has completely changed. Now more and more local school leavers believe that studying here is better.

From my point of view, it is worth studying at universities of major cities. To begin with, such diplomas are more preferable by employers, that is why there are bigger chances to get a high-paid job. Additionally, it is believed that there are more highly qualified professors in centre of Russia. Moreover, there are more possibilities for social mobility: if you get higher education, for instance, in Moscow, it is more likely to move and work there. To my mind, this is rather important as it broadens your mind. In addition, students from other cities mostly live in hostels. This experience teaches young people to be responsible, independent and self-reliable. What is more, living with other students can improve communication skills that are really valuable.

However, some people are of opinion that studying in big cities is just a waste of money as getting education there is expensive and most students come back, anyway. Besides, parents often worry about their children because they are far, so that family is not aware of what is happening with their child.

Personally, I disagree with them since it is also possible to study for free in big cities if results of exams are successful. Furthermore, living without parents is inevitable step of every man’s socialization, it has to happen in any case and studentship is the best period.

To sum up, although there are many difficulties when you leave your hometown in order to get higher education in major cities, I believe that experiences and opportunities, which a person can obtain studying there, are invaluable and essential.

Why Do People study Foreign Languages?

Gabriella Dimitrievska,

the student of the 11th form of City Classical Gymnazium

Nowadays speaking different languages is not surprising. Knowing of foreign languages is an indicator of the people’s intelligence. Sometimes we emphasize the person’s intellectual superiority saying that he speaks several foreign languages. To my mind, foreign languages are absolutely necessary for people nowadays.

There are many reasons, why we study foreign languages. Some study a foreign language for communication with people, others study it for future career. If we’re travelling abroad we can communicate with people there and understand them.

The ability of speaking foreign languages helps people to develop mutual friendship and understanding. We also broaden our intellectual and cultural horizons through contacts with people of another culture. Besides, it is very interesting to read foreign literature, watch films, listen to songs in its original form without any help and translation.

But there are people who think on the contrary. Some say that for travelling they need elementary language skills and it’s enough. Another reason is that only few people need a foreign language for job. Most people work and make carrier without any other language except Russian and they are happy enough.

However, I insist on learning languages because recent researches made by scientists conclude that people, who learn languages are more flexible and have original thinking. Samuel Johnson said that language is the dress of thought. More languages more thoughts I believe.

To sum up, I should say that I am for learning languages. It takes a lot of time and efforts but the result is worth it.

Travelling

Masha Nikiforova,

The student of the 11th form of school №17

Nowadays the world becomes more global. The connection between thousands of people is getting closer and more massive. And, of course, in such conditions people need to be cohesive and tolerant. Unfortunately, sometimes it is impossible. To be sure, in this, you can just look at the situation in the west. Russian-European relations have become extremely keen. It is very a regrettable fact of reality, which may have an effect on future. However, no one wants complications, because it will directly affect on the life of our planet.

For my part, I would love to travel around the whole world. I have already been in two countries and in the future, I would like to travel more. As an example, I visited Italy in the summer of 2012 with my family. We were in such cities like Rimini, Venice, Florence and Rome. We also visited San Marino and Vatican state. We spent there only two weeks, but those days I remembered for a lifetime. “Italy is a splendid country, it’s all the heaven, all full of joy” – Nikolai Gogol wrote. Italy is like a long weekend, filled of bliss and sun. Green endless fields, ancient buildings, excellent kitchen, gorgeous architecture and of course the great opportunity to learn about the life of romans from the inside. As I can say, Italians are highly cultured people. They are also very friendly and open. I had talked to a few romans and stayed very pleased.

Another special moment of any trip is the senses. Moreover, in my little adventure I have got it a lot. During those days, which I spent in Rome, I fell in love with it. Sometimes in cold winter evenings in Yakutsk, I think about warm stuffy days in eternal city. I still remember those quiet sunsets; overflow sky, noise and smell of the streets, smiles of romans.

None of the above will be truth in the case if the boundaries of our countries were close. Therefore, in other words I want to say – let’s be friends! Let us work together to open this world for each other and to preserve it for future generations. Because countries are just lines, drawn in the ground with a stick.

Foreign languages

Saskulaana Sergeeva,

The student of the 10th form of Humanitarian lyceum

Nowadays a lot of people learn foreign languages. Therefore, the children start to study foreign languages in primary schools for long time. However, some people are convinced that learning foreign languages is waste of time.

From my point of view, I strongly believe that foreign languages are absolutely necessary for modern people. There are many reasons why we should study foreign languages. To begin with, the ability of speaking one or some foreign languages helps people from different countries to develop relationships and understanding. We can learn a lot of interesting and exciting about our world through contacts with people of other countries. Besides, a person who speaks several languages sees the world from two or more perspectives. Finally, it makes sense to learn foreign languages if you are fond of travelling.

Nevertheless, there is an opposing opinion. Some people declare that they should do anything else instead of learning languages, for example, they can go in for sports. Moreover, it is popularly believed that some people have extraordinary skills to study technical subjects and they cannot concentrate on the humanities such as languages.

As far as I am concerned, I do not agree with it, because I suppose that the knowledge of foreign languages is an indicator of a well-educated person.

To sum it up, I can conclude that learning foreign languages is important. There is a saying: the more languages you speak, the more times you are a human being.

Travelling

Evgeniya Stroeva,

The student of the 10th form of school №3

Millions of people all over the world spend their holidays travelling. They travel to see other countries and continents, modern cities and the ruins of ancient towns, they travel to enjoy picturesque places, or just for a change of scene. It is always interesting to discover new things, different ways of life, to meet different people, to try different food, to listen different musical rhythms.

Those who live in the country like to go to a big city and their time visiting museums and art galleries, looking at shop windows and dining at exotic restaurants. City-dwellers usually like a quiet holiday by the sea or in the mountains, with nothing to do but walk and bathe and lie in the sun.

Most travelers and holiday-makers take a camera with them and take pictures of everything that interests them – the sights of a city, old churches and castles, views of mountains, lakes, valleys, plains, waterfalls, forests, different kinds of trees, flowers and plants, animals and birds.

Later, perhaps years later, the photos will remind them of the happy time once had. People travel by train, by plane, by boat, and by car. All ways of travelling have their advantages and disadvantages. And people choose one according to their plans and destinations.

If we are fond of travelling, we see and learn a lot of things that we can never see or learn at home, though we may read about them in books and newspapers and see pictures of them on TV. The best way to study geography is to travel, and the best way to get to know and understand people is to meet them in their own homes.

I have been to Paris. I travelled by plane. It took 5 hours to get to Paris from Moscow. I spent 2 weeks in Paris. And I was very happy to see this beautiful city. It was my dream. I saw many sights; the Eiffel tower, beautiful buildings, museums, architectures, cafes, parks. I travelled with my parents. And it was excellent holiday!

Science and technology

Nikita Fedotov,

The student of the 10th form of school №9

Nowadays people are surrounded by many technical devices in to mind social and world progress. Improving already available achievements in the sphere science and technology, we were able to make a new, more successful jump in plan of our development and advancement to the unknown. It got possible owing to the accumulation of sufficient knowledge in this sphere. Now we are trying to make yet best inventions in order to do human life easier and change some aspects connected with the world, ecological situations, scientific conditions and human influence. I think necessary researches and inventions of the future will allow finding different ways of change these aspects. So, let consider on what we should pay attention.

Science and technology are inseparable from each other. Making robots is one of the achievements humanity in science and technology. Are they so useful in our life? Robots are very helpful and people should use in there where human is not able.

At first, robots are more productive at any work. These automatic devices can be used in many kinds of job both very hard and easy, even not intended for human. Robots can do a great number of functions at his programme and they render some advantages and features. Outer factors do not affect on robots.

At second, they might to be mechanical carers, helpers, friends. For example, Wakamaru who was designed in Japan by inventor Spielberg is able to speak having more than 10 thousand words with people. Robots clean the house, deliver the mail, help elderly people.

At third, we can give to robots the broadest application in nanotechnology. Scientists can build mechanical and electric robots for assembly something from molecules using nanoelectric and nanomechanical systems. Nanorobots might be useful on creating, supporting of any complex systems. Some nanorobots owing to their forms, functions, structure can research far planets. Other nanorobots are used in medicine. Military nanorobots will be dangerous and elusive.

Analyzing affirmative and negative versions, people can conclude that affirmative versions are more than negative. Therefore, robots are very helpful for humanity. Robots have great possibilities in perspective of use, evolution and existence in our future.

Aggression and violence among teenagers

Aiuuna Gorokhova,

The student of the 10th form of school №17

Adolescence is a crisis, abrupt changes affecting all aspects of life. This period is characterized by emotional instability and mood swings, and if the child does not learn to behave as it should, at least, in the community, the actions of a teenager can escalate into aggression and even cruelty. Unfortunately, not only worldwide, but also in Russia and in our republic there are many examples of such cases.

What is aggression? Well, aggression is a behavior or action aimed at causing physical or mental harm to others. This is something that many poisons life. Teenage cruelty worldwide acquires horrific shape and dimensions. Almost everywhere there are outcast children and those who may be making fun of him.

It starts from the small conflict, personal animosity, verbal abuse, but it's quickly becomes a spitting, hitting, tripping, pushing, and if at the time did not find the path of reconciliation, or at least, a way to stop this behavior, "harassment" may at any time to grow into a fight, beating, which will remove the mobile phone and sooner or later will light up on the Internet. But the worst thing is that children with weak strength of mind, unable to withstand such a relationship to itself, can even go on suicide.

Fortunately, not all children in their teens are experiencing anxiety, cruelty. Some overcome this period, more relaxed. So why do some children of teenage undergoing very hard, while others do not? Naturally, this primarily depends on the child from his psychological stability properties of the organism and specific features. By his behavior also affect family relationships, personal reasons, his environment, the influence of the media, friends, and not unimportant role played by the time in which he was born.

Every year, young people are over-cultural, not mannered, passive, don’t support healthy lifestyle. This is the influence of the rapid technological development, but also because of the weakness of the institution of marriage in modern society. Society dictates violent behavior, shows examples through the media and TV. Teens become addicted to social networking, playing online - a game where a lot of killing and bloodshed. Nowadays a few teenagers voluntarily visit museums, theaters, parks and libraries. The lack of spirituality, faith, kindness, understanding, compassion, proper education modern teenagers used to behave incompetently.

Society can not live without conflicts, disagreements, disputes, because everyone is different and we all have different opinions on anything, but these contradictions can not bring to the conflict, because if it comes to conflict, there is a high probability that it will grow into open aggression. So, teenagers should learn to be tolerant, to work on yourself, to be able to not only listen but also hear the man to compromise, to admit mistakes and try to eradicate cruelty. The adults should help in every way, find an individual approach to the child, because some children will not be able to cope with his bad behavior and some are not aware of their evil deeds, do not understand and do not feel guilty about them.

I hope that violence will be destroyed by kindness, friendship, happiness and good attitude.

Roman Dmitriev

Victoria Dmitrieva,

The student of school №33

Today I want to tell you about the first Olympic Champion of our Republic, about Roman Dmitriev, who brought fame to the Yakut sport and Yakut people. I`m personally interested in this topic because he is not only a great sportsman, he is also my relative.

By the way, you can look at this photo that shows you the most precious thing he had – his family (his parents, brothers, sisters, etc).

Not long ago the Museum named after Roman Dmitriev was opened in Yakutsk, so I just couldn`t miss it. The museum shows us his numerous awards and his personal sports equipment. The museum director was so pleasant and kind, he even conducted a little excursion devoted to Roman Dmitriev`s life. Also you can go there every working day, absolutely free!

Roman Dmitriev is one of the most outstanding wrestlers of the 20th century. By his prominent victories in the Olympic Games, European and World Championships he announced to the world that in the Extreme North, in severe climate of Yakut land, there is a tough, robust, physically and spiritually strong nation.

He was born in a remote Northern province, in a small village of Bestyakh, Zhiganskiy region. Hard work in the country only hardened him. Fortunately, Roman Dmitriev had the luck to become a pupil to the outstanding trainer Dmitry Korkin in the Children`s Sports School of Churapcha. This is where he grew up to be a real wrestler and a strong personality, and acquired not only the perfect wrestling technique, but also his will in achieving set goals.

To conclude I would like to say that Roman Dmitriev`s contribution to the development of physical training and sports in the Republic and his triumph will always be an example for future generations and will inspire them to go in for sports and to strive towards new horizons and brilliant victories. He really is one of the greatest persons of our Republic.

I really enjoyed the contest.  It was a pleasure to be on the jury and to work with the pupils from the schools of Yakutsk.  The pupils were very energetic and enthusiastic to see how well they could speak English.  They all did such a great job.  The presentations of the children were beautiful as well.  You did a great job in organizing the event.  It was a joy to hear the English of each one that participated.  Thank you for inviting me to be a part of this contest.
