Lead-in:
Quickly recall what happened last lesson (go through vocabulary by showing the same pictures) and in groups tell Ss to ask and answer the questions from Lesson 1 Task 2.
Task 1:
The Arctic is a beautiful and fragile place… OR IS IT?
You are going to watch a video that will show the Arctic from a different perspective.
Please, take notes of any interesting details and facts that you will hear or see in the video.

What kind of video was it?
Trailer to the film called “Arctic”
Would you visit a place like that? Why?
If you were the main character in the film, what would you have done differently?
Now answer the questions below.
Where is he? In the remote place/in the Arctic
Who does he find? A young woman/a tourist
Who do you think she is? She could be a lost tourist/an adventurer/an explorer/a scientist
What do you think happened to her? Ss’ ideas
What does he decide to do? to look for help/to save her/to rescue her

Why do you think his watch alarm keeps going off throughout the trailer? In the Arctic you have to be able to do a lot of things to survive and you should be super careful not to waste time/it is also very hard to say what time it is as there are polar nights which means it can be as bright as daytime during the night, or it may suddenly go dark because of the storm, so you need to be very aware of your time

HOMEWORK:
Watch the film “ARCTIC” at home with your family and/or friends and discuss what people should do in order to survive in the Arctic. Be ready to share your thoughts next class. Revise the words from VOCABULARY LESSON Task 1, be ready to ask and answer the questions from Task 2 of this lesson.
