My Reflective Conversation after EVO sessions!

Knowledge for me is like a fountain or well where we can go to when we are thirsty. Thirsty for knowledge and experience... The more you come closer to the well, the more you want to drink. It also depends on what kind of a well to choose, it might be shallow or deep. Which one would you take your water from?

Being a mentor how can get my local colleagues-teachers engage in reflective practice? Do I need to make needs analysis? Are they all ready to shift from a traditional classroom practice to a modern one, full of advanced technology and new opportunities for both teachers and their learners to grow up? I know I'll answer all these questions in the long run but now I am gaining my mentoring experience.

EVO sessions motivated me to learn and read more about mentoring process. First of all, I am going to create an e-mentoring context for the local Kamchatka teachers to foster their teaching practical skills. My second intention is to help my students to conduct intercultural dialogues and create projects with different nations and cultures in order to develop their 'sphere of interculturality'. So my role there will be to guide them and share my knowledge on how to best complete some international projects. I guess I will be implementing two mentoring roles as being a  mentor for my colleagues and mentor for my students.

What I learned from the sessions (in brief): Don't be too ambitious (of course, you know a little more than your mentees). Don't TELL them, invite them into the discussion by asking them the concept and guiding questions; so, let them space and freedom to analyze/reflect on their TP (teaching practice) and background knowledge. Get them closer to the well of knowledge and they will decide for themselves what to do next.
