The Project
Safety Road
WHEN YOU CROSS THE STREET ON FOOT
- - look for a zebra crossing or a traffic lights crossing .Don’t cross between parked cars . - Stop before you walk onto the road .Stand on the pavement near the kerb. Listen and look both ways for traffic .Make sure its clear and walk straight across the road .Dont run
DO YOU KNOW THAT
- Many years ago most schoolchildren walked to school. To help children to cross the street "patrols' stood in the streets. They wore a bright coat and held a red-and-white stick with a circular sign at the top which read "Stop, Children". The sign looked like a lollipop . Most "patrols'' were women and were called "Lollipop Ladies", But since the 1980s there have been far fewer "Lollipop Ladies" in the streets. Today so many children go to school by car and bus, that there isn't as much of a need for patrols to help children cross the streets although, of course, there is still some need.In 1993 there were 1,000 lollipop ladies in bright coats in the streets of London standing at zebra crossings with their "Lollipop signs“.Many other towns in Britain, small and large, also still have "Lollipop Ladies" in their streets.
when you travel in a car
- when you travel in a car always sit in the back seat if you are under twelve years old wear a seat belt
- Don’t block the rear view mirror don’t play with the car door handles always use the door on the pavement side to get out of the car
When you travel on a bus
- stand well back until the bus has stopped completely don’t push others when you enter the bus sit down in your seat quietly and quickly it there aren’t free seats use handgrips don’t talk to the driver or annoy others on the bus don’t lean out of the window don’t wave from the window
When you travel on a school bus
When you ride your bike
- -make sure your bike is in good working condition -check your brakes and tires regularly -wear a bicycle helmet -ride with the flow of traffic not against it -use bike lanes -wear bright clothes in daytime -never carry a second person on your bike

THAILAND TUK TUK

Keep to the Left, and Stick to the Rul es
- The minimum age for driving a car in the UK is 17, and you must adhere to this law regardless of what the minimum driving age in your home country is. Driving in Britain, whether on a UK license or a foreign one, automatically makes you subject to the British Highway Code . This includes, but is not limited to, the following rules:
- Seatbelts must be worn by all passengers at all times.
- Until a child reaches the age of 14, it is the driver’s responsibility they wear a seatbelt. If a child is less than 1.35 m (4 feet and 5 inches) tall, the driver must provide a booster seat or a child seat. If you are pulled over and these regulations aren’t met, you, as the driver, will incur a fine.
- Hand-held mobile phone usage while driving is illegal and will also result in hefty fines and penalty points on your license. Although hands-free mobiles are tolerated, you may face a penalty as well if the police suspect this to be the reason for your involvement in an accident.
- Speeding, as in most countries, is illegal, and penalty points and monetary fines will be incurred. Be wary of speeding traps: speed cameras and automatic license plate recognition are the norm on British roads. Speed limits for cars are 48 kmph (30 mph) in towns and cities, 96 kmph (60 mph) on single-lane carriageways, and 112 kmph (70 mph) on dual-lane carriageways, as well as motorways.
- For every traffic violation, you receive penalty points on your driving license. If you receive more than twelve penalty points within three years, your permit will be automatically revoked. Depending on the individual offense and/or your total number of penalty points, you may also face a fine, an appearance in court, a longer disqualification from driving or even jail time (in very serious cases).
- However, these regulations only apply to Great Britain, i.e. England, Scotland, and Wales. If you move to Northern Ireland, there are separate regulations .
