Essential question

Teacher gets students acquainted with the Project Based Learning. Defines essential question.

Students select the topic of their project, generate ideas through brainstorming/mind-mapping

Planning of project

Teacher sometimes takes part in discussion, analyze possible sources of information with students, guide students to formulate project goals and objectives.

Students formulate goals and objectives of their project. Select information and activities that support EQ.

Schedule

Define deadlines for every stage of the project.

Design timeline for project stages.

Monitoring

Facilitate the learning process through appointing some consultations; remind students that every part of the project belongs to them and needs their total involvement; monitors the project’s progress.

Students gather the necessary information to create the project.

Negotiating the criteria for evaluation

Teacher discusses criteria with students then confirm them. Creates rubric for evaluation of student’s outcomes.

Students distribute their responsibilities. They establish clear requirements and evaluation criteria for the project outcomes.

Presentation

Teachers watches presentation as challenger or provocateur.

Students present their final products

Evaluation

Teacher evaluates the work of students, analyzes what were the advantages and disadvantages.

Students discuss what they enjoyed about working on the project, what they found to be devastating.
