Basic values in the USA and Russian Federation.

The main reason for comparison Russia and the American States is that both counties have vast territories rich in natural resources, fertile land, forests, timber, water and also living territories. That is why both countries followed the extensive way of development and industry. However, it is important to outline that Russia expanded more rapidly than USA. Because of that, we have a necessity to compare those two superpowers, because it is very important to know about a real power and values of influential countries.

Russian basic cultural values are looked at from the point of view of interactional patterns which determine specific features of cross-cultural communication in today's Russia. Such basic values as emotionality not-having-control, irrationality, and judgmental attitudes towards world and other people may but often have significant influence on the success or failure of intercultural workplace communication, effectiveness of management style, and the outcome of business negotiations.

Surface similarities show that, we may underline the real sense of a hard work, which expresses American capitalist ideology and Russian's necessity of surviving. Otherwise, both of us have a democracy and huge army. It is true that climate in both countries changes enough and we have geographical diversity. Society also is multi-cultural.

U.S.A. worldview is based on freedom. It is a center of all American values, but for us it is inner freedom of an individual independent of the environment. Character has its differences two. American self-reliance and belief here is in the opposite of Russian self-sacrifice. Climate here plays a great role, because national character grows up according to the circumstances. In our country climate is very harsh and cold as in the each south country. Well, thus other countries look for us as if we are undercontrol, but we just have Nordic temperament. American Material wealth and well-being and Russian preference of spiritual over material are also can prove that our countries have historically diverse cultures.

Although, according to the patriotism's features, someone can say, that Russians have a lack of patriotism, but for Americans, patriotism is everywhere. The USA flags are flying, the national anthem is played and slogans proclaiming love for America are to be found everywhere. Also, we should not forget, that American patriotism does not mean the identification with the land, but with a certain body of ideals, the "American Way of Life". Their country is their national pride ant thrift. This is an American part of worldview.

Effective communication in organizations is one of the important instruments for creating sustainable competitive advantage of the organization within a dynamic environment of modern corporate world, thus Russians have communalism, collective farms or cooperative. This also expresses equality and egalitarianism, self-sacrifice and the importance of family. Obshina tooks its toll on the Russian worldview. In America individualism is more preferable. They understand it as an economic self-sufficiency, which was always a central theme in American history.

So, one another different feature is a history. The USA is a new country in contradiction to Russia, which has its 11 centuries of life. The ability to retain certain key elements of deep Russian past has always been a feature of Russian life. It is important to know, that America has the only one civil war, but in Russia there were lots of wars.

Church is also a treasure of differences. Russia is an Orthodoxy country and Americans are evangelicals. Protestant religion has very deep roots in America, for Russia it was mostly Christianity, which is also has its pressure on moral and spiritual values.

As for me there can be no total potential for future cooperation among such as disparate cultures as America and Russia. It seems to me, that the main reason is a history, which educates values. We both have very strong power like two people with different characters. Both of them try to communicate but there are lots of factors which are basically and historically formed, that prevent to understand each other fully. It depends on values, which are partially the same, but mostly differ. If a person during all his childhood would be taught to love his or her country like the ideal, this person would never love another country as his own. It does not mean that this person is a bad human; it only means that his country is a center for him and his previous generation. That is why we will never concede the way to other country to manage and control us. In conclusion, I would like to say that cooperation can happen even if both countries give way, but, also it would mean the end of independence for America. So, for the person who loves his self-sufficiency most of all it is impossible to do business in cooperative.
