Игра посвящена приобщению школьников, изучающих английский язык, к культуре, традициям и обычаям англоязычных стран.

Цель настоящего мероприятия – развитие межкультурной коммуникативной компетенции и содействие формированию ключевых компетентностей.

Задачи:

 воспитание лингвострановедческой компетенции школьников путём ознакомления со страноведческим материалом англоязычных стран;

 формирование информационной, социальной, коммуникативной компетентностей учащихся;

 воспитание интереса к английскому языку, культуре и истории;

 воспитание толерантности, осознания своего места в современном обществе, умения сопоставлять и сравнивать родную культуру с английской;

 содействие развитию творческого потенциала школьников

Игра посвящена празднованию Рождества и рождественским обычаям и традициям в англоязычных странах,

Задания для участников Игры готовятся по следующим вопросам:

 Рождество в Великобритании, Америке, Австралии

 Символы Рождества

 Рождественские песни, стихи, загадки, сказки

 Рождественские блюда

Каждой команде необходимо подготовить оригинальное представление команды – презентацию в программе Microsoft Power Point (2 минуты) на английском языке.

• Good afternoon, children! We are glad to see you at our game “What? Where? When? devoted to Christmas and Christmas customs in English-speaking countries: the UK, the USA, Canada and Australia.

Do you like Christmas? Let’s sing the song “We wish you a Merry Christmas”

There are 2 teams in our competition.

First of all we’ll watch presentations of each team.

1) Каждая команда представляет оригинальную презентацию своей команды.

2) Now you must guess the meaning of some words and complete sentences with them.

3) Each team will take out a piece of paper from the magic box. Your task is to translate the words into Russian. (5 points)

Ребята вытаскивают бумажки и переводят на русский. Все слова связаны со словом Рождество. 7) Let’s play a jolly Christmas game “Find Santa’s reindeer”. Yesterday Santa had a jolly party and his reindeers left the home and went for a walk. Find them (8 reindeers) and bring back. But you must complete 2 sentences about Christmas. (5 points)

Choose 2 members. You have 2-4 minutes for search.

1st team – orange cards + green cards, 2d team – yellow card + blue cards

Green - On Christmas Eve children hang stockings on fireplace.

Orange – For Christmas lunch people eat turkey, pudding, vegetables.

Yellow – Before Christmas people buy different presents for relatives.

Blue – Christmas tree is decorated with lights, toys, tinsels.

8) Let’s guess crossword about Christmas. You have 3 minutes.

9) Let’s play the game “What is there in Santa’s bag?”

You’ll get a bag with interesting Christmas things. Guess them!

1^st BAG – sweet, snowflake, star, tinsel, sleigh, Christmas card, Christmas wreath, box, towel, candle, cracker (11 things)

2d BAG – colored ball, Santa Claus, reindeer, calendar, bell, coloured lights, Santa’s cap, gift, chocolate, stocking, Nutcracker (Christmas wreath) 11 things

10) Game “The gift – wrap”. Нужна обёрточная бумага, коробка и лента для завязывания. Даётся 1 минута. 2 человека держат 1 руку на плесе (спине) друг друга, а свободной рукой завязывают 1 подарок.
