Introduction
The Olympic Games are the world’s number one sport event. For thousand of athletes they mean a chance to win gold and glory-but that’s not all the games stand for. They are also an important symbol for billions of people around the globe-a symbol of peace, hope and friendly co-operation between nations.
The Olympics have changed enormously in the last fifty years. No doubt they will change in the next hundreds years, too. But how will they change? Let’s talk about the future.
Will the Olympic Games exist in 3000?
We think that the Olympic Games will exist in 3000. And we believe that Russia will host the Olympic Games, because our Motherland is the country of bravery. Russia is a fascinating country. It occupies a vast territory offering plenty of opportunities to enjoy resort towns with spectacular beaches, experience the taiga with its diverse wildlife and unexplored places, visit the Russian Far East where the sun rises while people in the Western parts of the country are still fast asleep. Tourists can also learn wonderful culture and sights of Russian towns and cities.

Will the Olympic traditions change?
The Olympics have changed with the times. And they will change in the future.
Now the Olympic flag has five coloured interlaced rings, representing the five parts of the world on a white background. The rings represents respect, bringing all nations and all five continents together without discrimination.
Pierre de Coubertin, the father of the modern Olympic Games, explains the meaning of the flag:
“The Olympic flag […] has a white background, with five interlaced rings in the centre: blue, yellow, black, green and red […]. This design is symbolic; it represents the five continents of the world, united by Olympism, while the six colours are those that appear on all the national flags of the world at the present time. ” (1931)
And we decided that the flag of the Future Olympic Games will not change.
-Each Olympic Games has its own Olympic emblem, which is a design integrating the Olympic rings with one or more distinctive elements.
As Russia will be the capital of the Olympic Games, we designed a new Olympic emblem. On this emblem you can see some symbols of our country: the Kremlin, the Red Star. The colours of the emblem are also symbolic: white means noble and sincere, blue-honest and devoted and the red colour means love and bravery.
-The motto of the Olympic Games is Citius, Altius, Fortius , which is Latin for "Faster, Higher, Stronger"

But the Olympic Games are not just about winning. The real thrill is competing against the best players on the Earth. So, the motto may sound like
-The Olympic mascot is a character, usually an animal native to the area or occasionally human figures, who represents the cultural heritage of the place where the Olympic Games are taking place. From the history of the Olympic Games we knew that the mascot of 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow was a Bear cub. As the bear was the national symbol of the Soviet Union.

With the development of civilization man's interference in nature began to increase. We are afraid that in year 3000 the ecological situation will become worse. So we decided to draw people’s attention to the nature’s problems. We believe that trees and forests will not disappear. And that’s why we consider a birch tree to be the mascot of The Future Olympic Games. This tree became a symbol of Russia, which all Russian people know and love. You can find these trees everywhere. People sing beautiful songs with poetic words about birch trees and plant them near the houses. Here are the pictures for the mascot:

III. What Olympic Awards will be in 3000?
- The Olympic medals awarded to winners are another symbol associated with the Olympic Games. We learned that the medals are made of gold-plated silver (commonly described as gold medals), silver, or bronze, and awarded to the top 3 finishers in a particular event. Each medal for an Olympiad has a common design, decided upon by the organizers for the particular games. From 1928 until 2000, the obverse side of the medals contained an image of Nike, the traditional goddess of victory, holding a palm in her left hand and a winners crown in her right. For each Olympic games, the reverse side as well as the labels for each Olympiad changed, reflecting the host of the games.

In 2004, the obverse side of the medals changed to make more explicit reference to the Greek character of the games. In this design, the goddess Nike flies into the Panathenic stadium, reflecting the renewal of the games. Since then the medals don't have a common side as the design for both sides is decided by the host organizers.

We think that gold and silver will not be the most expensive metals and instead of it sportsmen will be awarded by stones from the Moon, Jupiter or Mars.

IV Olympic emblems of different Games may also change.
- Now the Olympic emblems of different Games look like this:

We choose a new emblem for weightlifting:

We choose this one because it’s colourful and you can see a bear, which was a symbol of our country.
V What new sports will be in the Olympic programme?
1. Underwater hockey
Basic rules: two teams (six people in each team). They play with the puck at the bottom of a swimming pool. A game is broken into 2 times (15 minutes for each time)
Equipment and special clothes: the plastic sticks (30,5 sm in length), a puck, a mask, a tube, gloves and a swimsuit.

2. Chess-boxing
Basic rules: 11 rounds, thus six of them are given to chess, and five - to boxing. The last round is chess. Each round lasts 4 minutes. In boxing each round lasts for 2 minutes. Between the rounds there is 1 minute pause for the sportsmen to put on or put off boxing gloves.
Equipment and special clothes: boxing gloves, a set for playing chess.

3. Sports bath
Basic rules: the constant temperature in a bath is 110 degrees. Sportsmen are not allowed to lay in the bath or lean on the walls. The participants should manage to leave a sauna independently.
Equipment and special clothes: not needed

Conclusion
So, in our project we wrote about the modern Olympic Games and tried to predict what the Future Olympics will be. We designed a new Olympic emblem, motto and mascot. Our group offered new Olympic Awards and new sports in the Olympic programme and also chose a new emblem for weightlifting.
