Kolomna Parnas
Sweetheart, my native land...Everything here is familiar, native to me. A narrow path runs along the field. The white trunks of birches are swirling in a waltz. And this trail winds its way along the river bank, disappearing from view, then again appearing . Many centuries the waves of the Moskva - river flow. How much they remember! Is there a memory of their native land? First of all, it is in the hearts of people, in our hearts.(сл.2,3)
Cherkizovo is an ancient village with a rich and colourful history. The origin of its name is connected with the native princes Serkizov, entered the Russian service of the Golden Horde in the period of the great Moscow Prince Dmitry Donskoy. Up to the XVI century the Serkizov owned these lands. Then the village entered the palace department.
The new owner of Cherkizovo Prince Michael Cherkassy became in 1689, one of close to Tsar Peter the First. A stone manor house was built , Linden Park and Fruit garden were planted. With the name of his grandson, Prince Pyotr Borisovich Cherkassy connected the history of three temples: Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin, Church of the Dormition, the Church of Saint Nicholas.(сл.4,5,6,7)
In the middle of the XIX century estate Cherkassy was sold in parts in 1861. From the rich once the estate remained only two outhouses. The merchant Khludov bought one part in 1878. And the second, in the churchyard Starky, a famous Moscow doctor Vasiliy Dmitrievich Shervinsky bought in 1892. This wing belonged to his family until 1962.(сл.8)
Now the house no longer exists. The house is destroyed at the beginning of the 20th century.
The resources of his family, a new Cherkizovskaya school was built in 1911.(сл.9)
The author of the project was the eldest son of Professor - the architect Eugene Shervinsky. The local people called this building - " Shervinsky School ".(сл.10)
With the name of the younger son of Professor Shervinsky - the poet and translator Sergey Shervinsky linked rich literary history of Cherkizovo.(сл.11) Sergey Vasilievich knew seven foreign languages and became famous master of poetic translation. At his cottage in Starky many famous poets of the Silver age hosted in different years.(сл.12,13)
In 1916, Valery Bryusov visited Cherkizovo - founder of Russian symbolism.(сл.14) Anna Akhmatova came here three times - in 1936, 1952 and 1956.(сл.15)
In the summer of 1937 the poet and translator Boris Pasternak became a frequent guest at summer cottage to Shervinsky.(сл.16)
In the 1930s, not far from the Nikolskaya Church poets and translators Alexander Kochetkov, Vera Merkurieva rented a cottage. This literary society Sergey Shervinsky called “Kolomenskaya anomaly”. Evenings in the park or in the Shervinsky wing passed literary reading, poetic meetings.(сл.17) In the summer of 1941 Marina Tsvetaeva visited the cottage.(сл.18)
In the winter months of 1944, a translator Mikhail Leonidovich Lozinsky lived at the Shervinsky cottage. In Cherkizovo he had completed the translation of "the Divine Comedy" of Dante.(сл.19)
In the building of old school is now located Cherkizovsky Center of leisure and culture.
On the twenty-first of December 2011 Center of leisure and culture was named after Vasiliy Dmitrievich Shervinsky and a memorial plaque appeared on the building on the twentieth of April 2012.(сл.20,21)
The granddaughter of Shervinsky Catherine Druzhinina opened the memorial plaque.(сл.22)
Permanent exposition in the Centre was formed in 2006 “Cherkizovo-Starkey: history, culture, people”, and exhibition hall was opened only in Kolomna district in 2007.(сл.23)
Pupils of our school are frequent guests in the Centre of leisure and culture. We are proud of the history of our village.(сл.24)
