«Merry Christmas and Happy New Year»

7 класс.

Цели:

Обучающие:

1. совершенствование навыков говорения, письма;

2. активизация лексических навыков по темам «Праздники» и «Новый год/Рождество»;

3. тренировка монологической и диалогической речи;

4. обучение работе в группах.

Развивающие:

1. развитие интереса к изучению иностранного языка;

2. развитие лингвистической догадки;

3. развитие творческого мышления.

Воспитательная:

1. воспитание уважения к одноклассникам.

Оборудование: открытки и две бумажные елки для игры «Congratulations»; карточки с кроссвордом; презентация по теме «Рождество и Новый год в Англии»; карточки для конкурса «Анаграмма»; раздаточный материал – загадки для конкурса «Riddles», таблицы для жюри, текст песни «Jingle bells»; бумага и канцелярские принадлежности для выполнения письменных заданий и изготовления открыток; рождественские и новогодние песни на английском языке (в качестве музыкального сопровождения).

Подготовительная работа: Подготовка к празднику начинается примерно за неделю – две до самого праздника. Детям раздаются слова песни и стихотворения, которые должны быть выучены. При этом следует обязательно отработать правильное произношение и интонацию. Класс украшается новогодними картинками, а также двумя новогодними елками, которые необходимы для задания «Congratulation».

Занятие проводится в виде игры, состоящей из пяти конкурсов. Занятие рассчитано на 45 минут.

Ход урока

Teacher: Good afternoon, my dear girls, boys and guests of our lesson. Today we will speak about two great winter holidays – New Year’s Day and Christmas. Let’s remember what do you know about these holidays? Look at the blackboard (Презентация «Новый год и Рождество в Великобритании»)

- Let’s organize a competition devoted to these holidays. For the competition you should make two teams. (Дети делятся на команды по рядам, как сидят в классе. Можно также использовать прием «по жребию»: учитель держит в руках карточки двух цветов, например, красного и желтого. Учащиеся закрывают глаза, и каждый выбирает карточку.)

-But before start, please name your teams. The names should be connected with the theme of our lesson. (Учащиеся придумывают праздничные названия своим командам.)

-А судьями мы выберем наших гостей.

Teacher: Are you ready to have fun? Are you ready to do some tasks? Firstly, I would like you to brush up Christmas vocabulary that is different words that we should know when we talk about Christmas and New Year. I’ve prepared for you word search puzzles and crosswords. Do you manage to do them? Let’s start!

Конкурс 1 –« Secret message »

Teacher: Match the words to the correct pictures to complete the crossword. Then find a secret message and write down it. Соедините слова с правильными картинками, чтобы заполнить кроссворд. 3атем найдите секретное сообщение и запишите его. (Учитель раздает распечатки с кроссвордом (Приложение 1). Учащиеся выполняют. Проверяем ответы).

Конкурс 2 –« Anagram»

Teacher: Now let’s рlay in English game an “Anagram”. The letters in these words are mixed. Рut them in the correct order. Сейчас поиграем в английскую игру «Анаграмма». Буквы в словах перепутаны. Ваша задача расставить их в правильном порядке. (Приложение 2)

Конкурс 3 –« Riddles»

Teacher: Do you like riddles? I hope, you do, because I have nice riddles for you to guess!

Вам нравятся загадки? Надеюсь, что да, потому что у меня есть для вас несколько прекрасных загадок!

-The rules of the game are the following: each member of your teams takes a рaрer with the riddle from this box and guesses it. If you don’t know the answer you may ask for help of your team. If nobody knows it you put it back in the box and sit down. Is the task clear for you? (Приложение 3)

Teacher: And the last one riddle from me:

Where do people put their greetings? (a postcard)

- Of course, it’s a postcard because a great number of people all over the world want to congratulate their dearest and nearest and a beautiful postcard is a good way.

Конкурс 4 –«Congratulations»

Teacher: And now let`s look at our New Year Trees. There are some cards on them. Do you see? (До этого учитель или его помощник развешивает на одной из ёлок новогодние открытки, на которых написаны поздравления. Каждая открытка имеет свой номер. На другой ёлке висят такие же открытки с такими же номерами, но в которых написаны русские эквиваленты поздравлений.) (Приложение 4)

-Let`s take these cards and read them to our guest. But you know our guests have come from the other country. They don`t know English. That`s why they need an interpreter (переводчик). Each team should choose their interpreter.

Участники из каждой команды по очереди снимают с ёлки открытки, читают их гостям, а переводчик говорит их по-русски. Если перевод вызывает затруднения, учитель предлагает переводчику найти русский эквивалент на другой ёлке.

Конкурс 5 –«New Year Card»

Teacher: Yes, we all like New Year and Christmas. We like to get congratulation, present and greeting cards. Have you ever send New Year Cards? (Учащиеся отвечают) Let`s congratulate each other with the help of a New Year Card. Each team will make a card for the other team. You may use all poems and congratulation we mentioned today.

Каждой команде выдается большой лист бумаги, карандаши, маркер, клей и всевозможные новогодние картинки. Пока дети делают свои открытки, звучит новогодняя музыка(желательно, чтобы песни были на английском языке ). После изготовления дети показывают свои открытки и читают друг другу поздравления. Жюри оценивает работы и объявляют результаты конкурса и игры в целом. Если какая-либо команда набрала больше очков, то целесообразно придумать две номинации. Например: «Самая новогодняя команда» - для тех, кто набрал большее количество баллов, и «Самая веселая команда» - для той, которая набрала меньшее количество баллов. Это устранит возможный конфликт между командами, и все частники будут довольны результатами.

Заключение

Teacher: Well, our lesson is over. Today we have spoken a lot about New Year`s Day and Christmas, congratulated each other, recited poems, and made New Year Cards. And now I offer you to sing the famous Christmas song «Jingle Bell». I think everybody know it.
