Good morning. I’m glad to see you. Take your seats, please. How are you today? Do you like sports? What kinds of sport do you know? What is your favourite kind of sports? And today the motto of our lesson is “Sports”. All together, please. Today we will speak about popular outdoor and indoor sports, the role of sport in our life.

But first of all, let’s train our tongues.

Объяснение нового материала.

• Today we will continue our topic «Be a Good Sport». Today we’ll talk about sport history (на доске написана тема «Sport History»).

• You will learn to use in your speech very useful form of verbs for expressing the action that began some time ago and still is going on.

• Compare two sentences:

1. The Football Assosiation (Футбольная Ассоциация) has held The FA Cup competitions at since the middle of the 19^th century.

2. The FA Cup competitions have been held since the middle of the 19^th century.

• In the 1^st sentece we have Present Perfect Active and in the 2^nd - Present Perfect Passive. As you can see there is the doer of the action in the 1^st sentece.

• Let’s make up a scheme of Present Perfect Passive. It’s formed with the help of the auxiliary verb “to be” in Present Perfect and the third form of the verb–Participle2.

• Write it down in your exercise book and make up some examples using new lexics.

Present Perfect Passive.

Have/Has been + V₃/V_ed

Football has been played with proper rules (должные, подходящие правила) since 1863.

P₁ – Present Perfect Passive. Expressing the action that began some time ago and still is going on. The doer of the action is unknown or unimportant.

1. Football has been played for hundred of years.

The FA Cup (Кубок Футбольной Ассоциации) competitions have been held ( II форма глагола to hold – проводить) at Wembley stadium (стадион) since the middle of the 19^th century.
