- Aims:
- Educational : - According to the lesson’s educational purpose improve pupils’ personal qualities like behavior; to increase knowledge on Uzbek literature, to learn famous works by famous writers
- Developing: - According to the lesson’s educational purpose develop pupils’ personal skills, English learning, motivational skills, to increase vocabulary related to literature and art
- Socio-cultural: - to raise awareness of other cultures, teaching to respect them
- Up bringing : - to enrich pupils’ knowledge of Uzbek literature
Brief information about Uzbek literature in the first decades of the 20 th century
- In early 20 th century new poets and writers emerged in Uzbek literature, such as Kodiriy, Chulpon, Fitrat, Oybek, G.Gulom,A Kakhor, Kh. Olimjon, Uyghun and K. Yashin. New genres like political satire, feuilleton and pamphlet came on the scene. In 1923 satirical magazine “ Mushtum” began to be published.
- Most of the best work published in the postindependence period was in prose. Toghay Murad’s lyrical novel “Otamdan qolgan dalalar” (1994, ‘Fields Which Remained from My Father’),Tohir Malik’s novel Shaytanat (1992-96;’ Devilry’) and so on.

Read the text and decide if the following sentences true or false.
- Fitrat
- Fitrat was a famous member of Jadid’s movement in Central Asia and Uzbek literature a specialist in theory in and practice of Jadid’s School, a playwriter and scientist. He was born in Bukhara in 1886. At first he studied at old school, later in Madrassa called “Mir Arab”. Fitrat lived in Bukhara and later he visited Turkey, India and Arabic countries. He also travelled to Moscow and St. Peterburg. During 1909 – 1913 he studied in “Dorul Muallimin”. He made an organization called “Buhoro ta’limi maorifi ”. Fitrat engaged in political activity after February events in 1917. He was elected to the revolutionary party called “Yosh buhorolilar”. Fitrat adjusted equal relations between Russian Government. But Amir’s member’s and Bolsheviks didn’t let his wish about Independence.Therefore in 1917 it was called “Yurt qayg‘usi”.
