There are many rumors about Van Gogh cutting off his own ear. According to this, his brother, Theo, who is his closest friend, is alleged to have done so when he heard that he was getting married.    After cutting off his ear, the artist was treated periodically in mental hospitals. And here is his famous painting, Starry Night, which is one of the works of the artist during one of his periods in a mental hospital.   If you look at the table, stars and objects are depicted differently from their appearance in the real world. Artists connected to this art movement convey the facts as they want to see, not as they are.    Van Gogh was inspired to paint on a June night when he was being treated at the mental hospital. And when he looked out of the hospital window, he reflected what he had seen, as shown in the table.    An important fact about this painting has been unearthed by scientists in recent years. Accordingly, images taken by the space telescope Hubble, revealed the true appearance of the stars. The actual appearance of the stars in the images taken from the space telescope was not the way we see them from the world. Because there was a circular light around them all, just as Van Gogh reflected in the painting. This light was described by scientists as a cloud of gas and dust.
