London is one of the most beautiful cities of the world, the city of contrasts and style. Nowadays it is very difficult to imagine London without the famous symbols as red phone boxes and the well-known red buses.
Они вносят яркий цвет
The well-known red buses which bring bright color in grey and cloudy London weather.
DOUBLE DECKER
And it is very interesting how the well-known double Decker will look in the near future
A recognized symbol of Great Britain all over the world.
The first buses appeared in London in 1829. Of course, they were drawn by horses and were called as "omnibuses".
Omnibuses offered two classes of service: comfortable the first for more wealthy citizens
and outdoor area the second for ordinary people.
Slowly omnibuses changed. Horses were changed with trams, trams were replaced with trolley tracks (certainly, doubledeckers). They were replaced by trolleybuses.
Then also the motor omnibuses later renamed into "buses" developed. "B-type bus" appeared in 1910.
For several next years they have been competing with omnibuses, and omnibuses, certainly, were lost in the fight with the ‘engine’.
Red two-storeyed Routemaster with an opened area became an ultrapopular symbol of London.
There weren't Doors in the bus, passengers could enter and leave not only on bus-stops but while travelling.
The identification card of London
Today you can meet "Rutmaster" on two historical routes No.9 and No.15 in the center of London to see important monuments and sights. (from the Albert-Hall cultural center (Royal Albert Hall) to Eldvich) and (from the Trafalgar Square to the Tower Hill (Tower Hill)).
Interesting fate
It turned out that this one is used as a popular vegetarian restaurant in the London East End.
Types of modern buses
old models leave
come new, more modern, more convenient
The bus duck doesn't drive tourists along streets of London, but also sails them across the Thames.
Nowadays it is very difficult to imagine this city without these red symbols on the wheels.
25 buses were recoloured in silver in 1977 in honor to Silver anniversary of Queen Elizabeth, 25 was recoloured in gold color in 2002.
The blue London bus appeared in honor of a premiere of the third movie about Harry Potter "Prisoner Azkabana".
And, maybe, very soon we will become witnesses of revival of the legendary owner of a route –the red symbol of Great Britain on the wheels, the real English bus.
There will not be the open area in the new design, They will have three doors and two ladders for passengers landing. And, the back door and its platform will be made wider to allow people to jumin and out in thev red symbol of London during the trip.(as traditions).
When we remember Great Britain . C ome to our mind Big Ben, the Tower, the Queen, red phone boxes, a flag and, of course, red two-storeyed buses which are the identification card of London as equal as Big Ben and the Tower of London .
The red bus – is the most popular symbol of London.
