It is known that English is the most popular spoken language in the world and it is difficult to imagine a person who has never tried to learn it. There are so many reasons why we study this language but I want to present my point of view.

Firstly, I am absolutely sure that English is necessary for my future profession. May be I will not speak it at my lessons but nowadays computer programmes and technological equipments are usually written in English. I do not mind reading the instruction and translating them.

Secondary, I am fond of travelling and I am going to visit a lot of countries abroad. I think English will help me communicate with people, learn more about the history and traditions of those countries and – last but not least – perhaps find new friends. I hope it will not be difficult for me to chat with foreign people.

Finally, studying English gives an opportunity to read books of English writers in the original. I think that you can understand better what the writer wants to say when you speak the same language with him. And I can also watch English films and translate English sounds. I will widen my intellectual horizons.
