An ideal friend – myth or reality

Friendship is a necessary aspect of our life. It is something that can’t be bought or sold. But what do we really put in this meaning? What kind of qualities are the most important?

So friend is a person who supports you and who will never betray you. A real friend can put yourself in your shoes, to understand what is going on in your life and help you, for example in situation when you need a shoulder to cry on. Everyone values different characteristics and attributes in friends. However, there are generally some basic qualities that make a person a good friend such as loyalty, honesty, trust, kindness, reliability, humor and so forth. In my opinion the most significant feeling that exists between two friends is trust. Furthermore trust is something like an unwritten rule. You confide in friend, tell all about your life. Consequently, after that a true friend shouldn’t try to steal your boyfriend, to damage your reputation or blab out your secrets.

In my opinion there is no limit to the number of friends that you can have. But I suppose that a close friend can be only one. Not all friends are alike, for example - my friend and I have absolutely different characters. She is very active, talkative, and quite easygoing. She looks like a perpetual motion machine, because she is always full of initiative. I’m the direct opposite of her, nevertheless the extremes meet. Though we have something in common, it’s our sense of humor. For instance we laugh together at humorous anecdotes, jokes, funny slips of the tongue, ludicrous and absurd situations.

In conclusion, I can add that a friend is a living treasure, and if you have one, you have one of the most valuable gifts in life.
