День Рождения Роберта Бёрнса

Каждый год 25 января вс Британия отмечает день рождения народного поэта Роберта Бернса. Его стихи ипесни знают илюбят в России. Ребята с удовольствие изучают их на уроках. Хочу поделиться отрывком из стихотворения "Честная бедность".:

Who is honest to his poverty I'm ashamed of everything else, The same pathetic of people Cowardly slave and stuff.

For all that, For all that, Even if you and I are poor, Wealth - Stamped on gold And gold - We ourselves!

We eat bread and drink water, We hide in rags And all that jazz And meanwhile a fool and a rogue Dressed in silk and drinking wine And all that jazz.

For all that, For all that, Judge not by the dress. Who feeds on honest labor, - I call such nobles!

"Honest Poverty" is a work that has not lost its relevance today. The issues of social inequality are not as acute as they were two hundred years ago, but they still worry thinking people. And, although poems are no longer popular as a folk ballad, they are studied by schoolchildren and students, are used in theatrical performances, and remind us of love for people and faith in justice.
