Learning foreign languages is not an easy thing. It is a long and slow process that takes a lot of time. But to know English today is necessary for every educated person, every good specialist. 750 million people all over the world use it.

English is a world language. It is one of the richest languages. There many borrowings from English in other languages. It is the language of progressive science and technology. It is aviation, shipping and sports. But English is and always has been constantly changing.

The rise of English is a story of wonderful success. Two thousand years ago English did not exist. Five hundred years later English was already spoken by the people from Great Britain but they were not many. Geographically, it is the most widespread language on earth now.

English is the official language of the UK, of the USA, of Australia and New Zealand.

Millions of people study English as a foreign language. In our country English is very popular. It is studied at schools, colleges and universities.

I began learning English 8 years ago. I think it is very interesting to learn foreign languages. But I want to know English because I want to use it in my future job and I want to use computer programmes.
