Protocol for the project: Critical Friends

Essential Question: Is it interesting learning reported speech by making animation using the software Sparkol?

1.

Introduction (10 min)

Creating the essential question with the students. To prepare and motivate students to work with new project. Dividing students into small groups. Sharing the responsibilities among the group members. Discussing the sources of possible information.

2.

Presentation (15 min)

Discussing crafted essential question, information about the project, lesson plans. Presenting following steps of students’ projects including activities to be accomplished, end product, demonstration of project and present them in circle.

3.

Clarifying questions (up to 7 min)

Students ask different questions in order to clarify the topic, aims, objectives of their project, about usefulness of the project, about the length of the project and etc.

4.

Warm and cool feedback (20 min)

Students show their project, which is going to be finished, while teacher remains as a neutral facilitator. They discuss the benefits of their work and then add some criticism or comments to improve their project.

5.

Reflection(7 min)

Students accept comments and suggestions told by others and correct the mistakes that they have made.

6.

Debriefing (5 min)

Discussing the experience that they have gained during the project work.
