N. M. Ruybtsov was born in Yemetsk on the third of January in 1936 and died on the 18lh of January 1971, so we can say that January is Ruybtsov's month. His father and mother were from the village Samilkovo, Vologda Region. At the beginning of the 30th the Ruybtsovs moved to Vologda.
The family lived happily. The music was often heard in their flat, they have got a gramophone.
The father had a nice voice too, often sang and liked to listen to opera singers. Mother loved folk songs and sang them wonderfully. Father's talent was given to all the children.
1937-s years were very difficult to our country. Michail Andrianovich was arrested. Mother had five children, it was winter, and they had no food and had to leave the flat as "the enemies» of people
It is difficult to say now how they could survive. Their eldest daughter Nadezhda died at that time.
In a year in 1938 the situation in the country changed and the father was freed.
In 1941 the Ruybtsovs moved to Vologda. The Great Patriotic war began and M. A. went to the war. He was 43 years old. The mother died because of the heart ache and in a day after her little Nadezhda who was only 7 months died too.
Later N. R. wrote about those events in the poem "Childhood". Children were sent to children's house.
After the war the father returned to Vologda, but he did not find his family, married once more and had three sons in a new family.
Little Kolya spent his childhood in Nikolskoye and always called this village his motherland. He was a talented boy, could draw and made school newspapers, easily could play any melody. He was a good sportsman and excellent pupil. His literary compositions were read in the class as the best ones.
But it was the war and children were always hungry, they had no enough clothes in spite of the government tried to do the best for the children.
In 1950 Ruybtsov finished the seventh form and went to Riga to enter the see school. He was fond of the sea and dreamed to become a sailor. But he was only 14 years old and a very small boy so was not allowed to study there. He had to return to Nikolskoye and entered a forest technical school in Totjama in an ancient wooden town with many churches. It is situated on the river Suhona; many ships went along the river and the nature of these places imagined the young man. Later Nikolay entered mountain-chemical technical school in Kirovsk and studied to become a mechanic.
But it was impossible to live on a miserable scholarship and after the second year he went to Vologda.
. Just of that time he began to write poems and understood that could not become anybody but the poet and he left the technical school.
Soon Nikolay was taken to the Soviet Army and served on the big warship in the North. He was a sailor and his war profession was very difficult and dangerous but he did it perfectly. During his army years he wrote many poems and some of them were published in the war newspaper "НастражеЗаполярья».His talent of a writer made him to enter Moscow Literary institute.
So he became a student. He lived only on a scholarship, and as usual in his life there was not enough money and food. During the summer holidays all the students went home to their families but Kolya had no place, no money to go.
We can't imagine how he lived! His character was not very peaceful so he was excluded from the institute several times and then recovered.
Nicolay Sidorenko the professor of the institute helped him and valued his great talent.
During the holidays Ruybtsov lived in Nicolskoye, he married there Geta Menshicova, the girl who was also in children's home during the war. In 1963 Lena, the daughter was born. Now Elena Nicolaevna lives in St. Petersburg and has three daughters. Unfortunately a few years ago her elder son Kolya was killed, he was a pupil of the tenth form. He was killed when the country celebrated the 70-th anniversary of his grandfather.
His last years N. Ruybtsov spent in Vologda, worked in the newspaper "Vologodsky Komsomolets", wrote many poems, and published some books. He became a member Writers' Union. But in 1971N.R. was killed.
Now N. M. Is a well-known national Russian poet, many people love his poems, composers created many songs because the poems are very musical. His poetry is studied at schools and universities’. M. Is a great Russian poet who loved his motherland most of all on the earth.
