Teaching online? Advice for the online facilitators.

We should consider lots of technicalities before opening and facilitating the academic course, such as the thorough introduction to the Canvas platform or rubrics, methods of assessment, deadlines, and learning strategies on how to complete the course successfully.

Avoid procrastination and be prepared to cover various topics besides your specific expertise because your task is to create a friendly professional discourse community or to say, a community of practice.

Provide your participants with all web resources related to the specific area of study. Also, the language of instruction should be in plain English.

Before facilitating the course, I recommend you read some books on psychology on how to motivate and encourage colleagues in their academic endeavors.

Your participants look up to your skills and your high profile, and if they encounter some technical issues throughout the course, it will definitely affect your facilitation and your professional status.
