Text 28. READING IS FUN.

Нажмите, чтобы узнать подробности

My name is Lena Koval and my hobby is reading. I learnt to read when I was six years old. First my mother read fairy-tales to me when I was very small and then she taught me to read. It was difficult at first, but I learnt to read very quickly. When I went to school the teacher was happy when I read a fairy-tale in class. It was the fairy-tale “Cinderella”. Do you know this story? If not, I am going to read it to you.

Cinderella lived in an old house with her two ugly sisters and their mother. One evening her two sisters went to a big party at the palace. Cinderella stayed at home and worked in the kitchen. She was not happy. Then a fairy came and gave her a wish. Cinderella wanted to go to the party. And she went there. She met a prince at the party and danced with him. She left the party at twelve o’clock, but she lost one of her shoes. The prince found the shoe and the next day he began to look for the girl. Finally he found Cinderella. They married and were very happy.

In the third and fourth forms I started to read different stories. I am interested in geography. Now I am reading a book about Belovezhskaya Pushcha. Its animal world is very interesting. Many rare animals live there. They walk free in the Pushcha and people look after them and feed them. In summer our class is going to visit Belovezhskaya Pushcha. Now I know many things about the Pushcha and I can tell my classmates about them.

I also like to read books about England, its geography, its history and people. Reading is fun. Don’t you think so?

palace - дворец

fairy - фея, сказочный
